Breivik Apologizes for Not Killing More People

Shortly after the court in Norway sentenced Anders Behring Breivik, who murdered 77 people just over a year ago, to 21 years in prison, he apologized for not having murdered more people.

Asked whether he intends to appeal the sentence that was handed down to him, Breivik said, “Since I do not recognize the authority of the court, I cannot recognize the legitimacy of the punishment it gave me. Accordingly, I cannot appeal.”

When he was asked on Friday whether he wants to apologize or express remorse for his actions, Breivik responded, “I definitely want to apologize. I apologize to all nationalists everywhere that I did not succeed in killing more people.”

Earlier on Friday, the court ruled that Breivik was sane and guilty. In an unusual twist, prosecutors had asked that Breivik be found insane, which would have guaranteed more prison time, while Breivik demanded that he be found guilty.

Breivik insists that he is not insane. He asked to be ruled sane so that his self-proclaimed motive of fighting multiculturalism and “Islamization” would not be dismissed.

The maximum prison sentence for his crimes is 21 years, but under Norway's preventative detention law, it can be extended if Breivik is considered a danger to society.

Couldn't he have just passed out leaflets and spoken to friends and family? I guess not.

Modern European civilization. We put the ‘moron’ in oxymoron.

Seriously, I hope somebody offs this guy. Think about it, they probably would only get a few more years on their sentence.

And my understanding is the prisons over there are more like American college dorms, maybe even nicer.

Let’s send in Pipi Longstocking, Norwegian super girl. She’s grown up some, but still has that same carefree attitude and extraordinary strength.

“insane people get more time than sane people?”

It is not that psych cases get more time per se, it is that they are not released until they are ‘well’. Thus their incarceration would be indefinite, and a way to back door a life sentence even for much lesser offenses.

Oh yes, or the Girl with the Dragon tattoo (based on Pipi I think it’s thought). She’s make mincemeat out of that guy.

Didn’t the courts find him sane? Maybe that was another freak I read about.

I hope it is as you say. I’d hate to think what kind of horror this guy could plot with 21 years to plan.

Found sane. Now only Pipi/Dragon Tattoo Girl can take him out. The world is insane, especially Norway.

“Didn’t the courts find him sane?”

Yes they did. This made him subject to a finite sentence. If found insane, as the prosecution requested, he could have been incarcerated indefinitely. Actually, that might be safest for him.

I know of a case where a young man accused of rape had his bail paid - by the victim’s family. He was released. He did not make his next court appearance. He can no longer be found.

He says he wishes he had killed more people. Well, his 21 year maximum sentence works out to less than for months per victim. He may well get his chance to fulfill his wish. It’s too bad Norway doesn’t place a higher value on human life. This is the legal system that they created - for whatever ridiculous reason they had for doing so.

To Europe, the death penalty is considered inhumane, so they won’t deport felons to the US that face that penalty...and we pretty much agreed to their terms - we promise no death penalty for some of these animals. Life without parole was the alternative.

But that wasn’t enough for the Europeans - as now they consider Life without parole inhumane...well, I guess, usually inhumane. I guess they make an exception here, as this guy is a politically incorrect killer.

It's a good thing Norwegians are so civilized.

Breivik is certainly consistent.

Breivik Apologizes for Not Killing More People

Reminds me of "Spengler", AKA David P. Goldman, writing for the Asia Times, regretting that William Tecumseh Sherman didn't kill more Southerners.

The sad thing is when muslims have the numbers to enforce sharia, it will require a vikingesque response! Evil begets evil and it will require a like minded response to vanquish it, just ask the crusaders, evil backs down when it has a boot on its’ throat or its’ head on a pike, liberalism and humanism coddle evil, so it multiplies!

If so, then Breivik is merely the first to see and act on it, which sounds exactly like what he would say himself:-(E
