On that, you and I agree completely. By this time my circles are generally buzzing about politics. Very quiet this time around. My take is that both camps are very concerned for, and disappointed with, their candidate.

I work in the Bronx and live in Queens. You are correct. I hardly see any bumper stickers or signs anywhere. Interestingly, of what I do see, I would say it is about even. The polls say NY +25 for Obama.
