Occupy Wall Street Rapes: How Many More Victims? (1/11/2012)

While the media and Democratic establishment continue to laud the #Occupy movement, they ignore the reality of what is going on on the ground — Occupy Wall Street is an extremely small, fractured and ineffective social experiment that is unable to even provide safety for the young, female protesters that it tries to attract. In a chaotic transcript from the January 7 New York General Assembly, it was revealed that one assailant was allegedly responsible for six rapes.

In the posted minutes, anti-rape activist Nan Terrie told the group...

The proposal that I brought was an incident that happened and certain groups did not properly address it or handle it. When we had the park, we had an 18-year-old who got raped. She was drug raped. That individual who raped the 18-year-old raped five other girls in this park. My group dealt with rape victims in the park and still does. [Snip]... Rather than calling me or other women’s working groups, Housing took it upon themselves to have a jury of about 15 and more people between the victim and the gentleman. And they asked for both them to basically give details out.

The Occupy movement is openly disdainful of law enforcement, choosing to cherry pick the elements of the legal system they want to use (such as a restraining order process) while eschewing the parts that they don't like. the problem is that there collectivist decision-making process doesn't work.

Meanwhile, the #Occupy movement actively covers up the crimes committed there to avoid the resulting bad PR. Given the slavish nature of the media coverage they have received, however, the anarchistic occupiers needn't try too hard.

There is no "legitimate rape", obviously. It was an exceedingly moronic statement... but ask yourselves, when news broke that women were actually being raped at #OWS, did Pelosi, Obama, etc. ever condemn the movement?...

Agreed. There isn’t a “legitimate” rape. Stupid statement, just like US Congressman Hank Johnson from the Georgia 4th who thought Guam would ‘tip over’ if more troops were sent to Anderson AFB there. What’s worse? One is a white Congressman who obviously stretched his reasoning and let his mouth overload his brain - the other an effing idiot who is only in Congress because his constituents happen to be as black as he.

My question about Hank Johnson is, how did he pass a state bar exam?

For debate: How does one identify the difference between “rape” as it was originally defined, and the broad category that now includes morning-after-regrets and I-was-a-little-buzzed-when-I-consented?

I am NOT defending the comment from the Missouri candidate. I am simply trying to figure out how to reclaim the language surrounding this heinous crime so that its definition no longer includes almost every instance of intercourse between humans.

Must have been the race-card equalizer.....20-25 points or so because he was black.

I bet OWS is run largely by guys and they are trying to attract young female protesters because they are partly, maybe mainly, in it to get girls. They know they are substantially immune to retribution in the OWS demonstration milieu. They are too politically correct to be arrested and punished and the girls involved don't want to make the movement look bad just because of a few "bad apples." Well maybe those apples are the major force behind the movement.

DOWN WITH WITH WALL STREET AND GET GIRLS!

The"gentlemen"?

Odd choice of word to use for a man accused of rape.
