Generally the only time they paint the military in a favorable light is when they are fighting the Nazis in WWII

There are some exceptions like Top Gun and the Eastwood movie about Grenada and Gibson's "We Were Young and Soldiers" but even then the left wing critics either pan or ignore the movie
