From sleeping on the job to running prostitution rings off the clock, agents in the Transportation Security Administration have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. But TSA Deputy Administrator John Halinski shrugged off critiques of his employees at a hearing this week, saying Americans shouldnt expect more from their airport screeners than they would from the average guy on the street. If you have an organization of 60,000 people, thats like a city, Halinski protested, when asked if Americans were right to be unhappy with the TSA. Youre always going to have crime in a city. Youre always

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
The TSA screeners can’t be competently screened by the TSA?
Since most of 0bama’s cabinet and Tzars are criminals, I suppose all of those government employees below them are too.
When the TSA was foisted on the American people, the Bush administration said they would need 13,000 agents. There are now 67,000 and counting.
The Obama administration says it will need 800 IRS agents to monitor U.S. taxpayers forced into ObamaCare. How many agents do you suppose there will ultimately be, poking into your health care and home life?
Given our president, his West Wing of Felon/Cretins, and our “Just-Us” Joke Dept Head, no surprise here.
There’s a difference between having TSA screeners who are former criminals and having TSA screeners who are still in the business.
if they can't even manage to keep the criminals off the employment rolls, how can they be capable of keeping the terrorists off the planes?
The TSA needs to dress these people like flight attendants - and quit allowing them to pretend they’re police officers. They’re NOT... the requirements to be in the TSA are similar to Walmart greeters - only not as strict...
All those blood suckers will roll over into the next administration. We need to can TSA!!!!
Beat me to it! When I saw the headline, I thought,Who is screening the screeners? What a joke these people are. If there are criminal screeners, then what is to prevent one of them from letting someone, something to get through?
AND giving him the benefit of the doubt when he uses the word 'some'.
i expect better. While I assumed there were quite a few pedophiles and other perverts who take the job for the fringe benefit of groping total strangers, I was hoping that they at least had clean criminal records. Silly me. Obama’s people are to busy taking over our economy and our lives to do the jobs they already have.
Indeed! Halinski's statement is so profoundly bad it strains credulity. TSA are the gatekeepers. If this reflects the administration's mindset then all is lost. The House Homeland Security and Transportation committees should be falling all over themselves getting the hearings started. Halinski's career should be over.
The average guy on the street cannot take naked pictures of me or strip search me.
The average guy on the street cannot go through all of my personal belongings on a say so.
The average guy on the street does not have the force of federal law to back up his actions.
As such the argument is ludicrous on it's face. But can we really expect better for gubment scum?
I’m way ahead of him. I expect all of them to be criminals.
“You’re always going to have a crime in a city”
Yes. And when we catch the criminals we ARREST them and through them in PRISON!!
Same thing should apply to your ‘city’ Mr.TSA Chief...
Bingo.
Reminds me of an article I saw in a retail trade publication years ago. Some employment analyst predicting that in the future “retailers will knowingly have to hire people with criminal records, because increasingly they will be the only ones willing to take these jobs at minimum wage”.
