The drive-through line was already wrapped around the entire building, and we had to park about four sections out (technically in the next restaurant's over parking lot - it's all a shared parking area) just to find a place to park. When we got into the store, the place was PACKED OUT. I have never seen this restaurant this busy, even at the height of the lunch rush (~1230). The line with five registers running was still all the way out to the entrance. We stood in line for 5-7 minutes to be able to order.
Yet, even with them taking names for your order to play catch up, they still got our food to us in under five minutes. Tons of people making a political statement, and they STILL operated efficiently and professionally. Kudos to Chick-fil-A!
Lots of Durham city and county personnel taking in the food - Fire-Rescue, prison system personnel, Durham Co. Sheriff, even en entire ten-man Durham PD SET team (like SWAT) - only a fool would have tried to rob that store today! Apparently not everybody in the Durham government apparatus has the same views as the left-wing nuts like the mayor and city council members.
When we left the store at 1145, the line was still out the door, and the line for the drive thru was still wrapped around the building. Traffic was so thick people were having trouble getting out of the parking lot for the press.
Just got back from eating at CFA. Had to park across the street. They usually have about 5 people behind the counter. Today I counted 22 employees behind the counter! It was standing room only and the line of cars to get in was about 1/4 mile down the road. No protesters or cops in sight.
Chick-fil-A traffic clogs Interstate-20 ramp; lines wrap around Thomas Road restaurant - West Monroe, LA
Hit the College Dr. location in Baton Rouge around 11:15, Chamber of Commerce was there and it was busy. They were prepared, took about 15 to get our food, grilled chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and a coke. I love me some Chic Fil A!
Relatively new CFA here. Drive through is backed up 0.4 miles, with the drive through traffic making a "snail loop" around the store twice before you get to the speaker to place your order. Everyone is being cordial and helpful in regard to the crowd/traffic situation. Store itself is max capacity. Everyone is in a good mood. Several folks holding signs in support of CFA. No sign of any of the LGBT crowd.
Telephone update from my wife. She took a friend to CFA for lunch at the store in Rocklin CA. Said there was a huge line at the drive through and an overflowing parking lot. She and I are planning to go there for dinner - she wasn’t sure if they would have any food left over!!!!!
Since I eat a ChikFila at least three times each week I decided to forgo waiting in line today at Brookwood Mall in Birmingham. Two lines all the way across the food court...at least 150-200 people in line. I estimate people were waiting 20 to 25 minutes.
First of all - it was delicious!
Place was crowded with a line around the corner of the building to get it. Our local Chick-Fil-A is in a large strip mall, and the parking lot was packed in all directions (I doubt they were all there for the nail salon).
Everyone was polite, upbeat, smiling - there was definitely a positive buzz in the place.
The workers were all smiles, patience, and service - didn't see one not obviously happy to be working there.
Very few political comments - few that I heard were about how some politicians were trying to keep the restaurants from opening, and about how the owner was misquoted. That he was saying something positive about traditional marriage, and it was being twisted to something negative.
Did NOT see any press - probably the biggest story in our semi-rural area. The day is young, though, so we'll see how they report it.
Renews may faith in America - there are so many nice people out there who still believe in a free country.

Just got back from lunch (Cary, NC). I have 3 observations:
1. They were absolutely covered up. Inside they had every register open and it was 3 - 4 deep at all of them. The line at the drive through wrapped around the building, out into the street and about a half block down the road. And it was 11:30!!
2. The clientele and staff were the most polite and friendly group of people you would ever hope to be part of. Laughing with each other and just having a good time. BTW, it was a good sampling of America - all colors, shapes and sizes - all having a good time.
3. There was not a reporter anywhere.
I have been there twice already this week, and will dine there tonight.
I have a lesson to teach in Parkland and then it’s over to Coral Springs for a Spicy Southwestern Chicken Salad and some Diet Lemonade (32 oz cup of course! )
reports all over my Facebook of jam-packed CFA’s all over the place, even long lines in Chicago, heh
I got breakfast there this morning but could not wait for lunch. At 12:30 the Chick Fil A in Olathe, KS.
you could not even get close. Cars in every direction . Police directing traffic . We ended up eating at Mr. Gyro. I didn’t have the time. Might try for dinner. asked a person who parked about 1800’ from the entrance to the rest how long it took him and he said 45 mins to get to the front of the line. The cars at the drive thru had to be 60 of them. good to see.
The liberals will burn for this crime against AMERICAN VALUES.
I hope Mr. Cathy shows his appreciation by giving every voter on November 6th a Free shake with proof of voting (little sticker most get at the polls saying I VOTED.
I went by my local Chick-Fil-A.
There was a line outside all the back to the main street.
AND it’s HOT and very MUGGY outside.
The drive thru had quite a few cars in line, but the WALK IN must have had at least 50 people in line OUTSIDE the door.
I can’t imagine how many were inside. I couldn’t even get into the parking lot.
Maybe I’ll go there for dinner instead of lunch.
I tried to go to the one in North Fort Myers today but the line of cars stretched all the way around the building and I didn’t have time to wait. Will try a different branch around 9:30 tonight.
After action report from Port Orange and Orange City in Central FLA: both stores were slammed. Lines around the corner and cars down the street! Everyone was happy to be there and the staff was ready! Boo ya!
I am live posting from Chick Fil A in Roanoke, VA: http://nakeddc.com/2012/08/01/chick-fil-a-live-posting/
Apparently tons of folks here in SW VA love the first amendment!
Well, I tried. I really did. But, I only have an hour for lunch! I waited in the car line for about 20 minutes, drove around to the store front and the line was out the door.
So, I had to go to Jack-in-the-Box. Needless, to say they had NO line. LOL.
Great to see, though. Wish I could’ve gotten some pics.
The Tea Party, flying at Mach 3 high above the effective range of hurled hate filled epithets, deployed multiple cluster devices over the United States today. Each device contained hundreds of thousands of individual patriotic Americans determined not to submit to being forced to celebrate the rejection of God's laws. These individuals came to the defense of thousands of Christian owned franchised businesses drawing heavy liberal fire for speaking the truth. The truth won the day as the franchises broke all previous sales records nationwide. Liberals were left stunned and worried about how they were going to have to lie to cover up such a serious and devastating defeat. Meanwhile the Tea Party dropped below the government controlled media radar, kicked in full afterburner, and disappeared without a trace.
My son just sent me a text from the Chick-Fil-A in Noblesville, Indiana (exburb of Indianapolis). At 2:00 p.m. it’s still crazy busy.
