This election will be history setting with two candidates each the weakest their respective parties have seen in decades maybe in the history of the republic. They remain tied in the polls and when one pulls ahead slightly they quickly produce a gaff bringing the numbers back to a tie. with both conventions still in the future it will not be surprising if both parties throw their current presumed nominee over a cliff and pick new ones.

Probably doesn’t want to hear people asking “Hey, Mr. Vice President, Sarah Palin’s in town. Wanna go to the party?”

Can’t say that I blame him. I doubt I’ll even bother watching it on TV.

Politico?
These losers will run with anything, no matter how trivial, inconsequential or obscure.
I wasn't aware that Cheney was running for any public office.

Good. He served his country well for many many years, he has a bad heart and then had his surgery. If I were him I would fish on that Snake River every opportunity I got. Leave the politics to the dumbo GOP. I wouldn’t risk any stress etc over a group of people can’t stop caving.

I’d rather watch paint dry than watch the RINO convention. I’ll pull the lever for Mitt but I’ll hold my nose while I do it. I wish Ronald Reagan would reincarnate with someone - quickly!

Beautiful!
My boat tech will be here to service my boat this Thursday. Hopefully, I’ll be seeing that view off my boat by this weekend. Yes, nothing is more relaxing... and at times, exciting.

'I'd sure as hell go fishing.'
If I were him, I'd sure as hell make the effort to rally behind our candidate!.....I'm betting the fish will always there RICKY...our country may not! Kind of cheap and small for someone who has other-wise served the nation with great distinction...good god I don't get it....Shoot with his heart condition it might be the last great thing he can do for the greatest nation on earth; you know..... the one that gave him EVERYTHING. Why go out on such a diminutive note...again, I dont get it. That goes for all and any other pol. refusing to show up and stand up for the right....this is kind of sad and it kind of stinks..you know? What happend to the common sense embodied in standing together for what is right?

There may have been a determination that his presence would have caused unwanted comparisons to the Bush Administration, which Obama is determined to run against again. He certainly can't run on his own accomplishments.
It's entirely possible that Cheney graciously backed out because of a gentle nudge to do so.

I agree. I do not blame Cheney or W for not attending. Also, there is little chance I would watch the convention at all. I would rather dig my eye out with a fork.....ouch! ouch! ouch!

Cheney and Bush are staying away to help Romney, not because they don’t like him.
