The leading candidates in Washington's tight gubernatorial race both issued statements opposing the Boy Scouts of America's recent decision to retain a policy prohibiting gay Scouts and leaders.
Democrat Jay Inslee and Republican Rob McKenna both chastised the organization for the announcement that their secret committee unanimously refused to change the discriminatory policy.

I meant /S>!
What a night.
I’m curious, do the Girl Scouts allow men to be leaders and supervise overnight campouts?
The state should be renamed; it is a disgrace to the memory of General Washington. It did have one good official since World War II, a former representative named Jack Metcalfe.
You don’t count “Scoop” Jackson?
They chase independent voters, as if those voters are just politically ambivalent and easily swayed people.
Almost every registered independent voter I know is socially and fiscally conservative.
Have to give it to the Scouts for holding fast. Have a relative who was leader in HDG in Irving. The Scours poured thousands of pages of personel files, and they could if pressed dump much evidence in the lap of those who protest against the present policy. It made no difference to two member of the board who are being pressured by their friends in high society to conform to elite opinion. We can see what that is by looking at the Bushes., who have always been weton the social issues. The Scouts have had to deal with many more than one Jerry Sandusky, which is why their policy has been to exclude homosexuals, because of the risk.
No disrespect intended but what do you mean by “heavily liberal state”???
Our representatives will more than likely be 5D’s and 5R’s after November and didn’t Dino Rossi nearly win a few years back?
Four years ago Gregoire won by taking 7 of the 39 counties.
After November, Washington state will be in the Toss-up catagory!
mckenna of course. is he a weirdo?
By “lose” I meant they’re getting embroiled in a war not of their making or choosing.
They will be used as pawns, vilified in public, scorned, etc. just like at the DNC convention some years back when they were booed by the RATS, solely because they wear the uniform and participate in activities without fear of molestation.
Yes, many will be made stronger, some however, will wilt under the pressure.
The whole thing is a damn shame, but the queers wanted this fight, so a fight it is.
But TY makes a really good point as well, those not molested by the queers will be the real winners and I believe that to be the crux of the issue.
Maybe even pratcitioners.
Wasn’t the wikileaks perp one of them?
So easy to compromise them; animals.
So, the Republican candidate agrees with the Democrat candidate that it’s a good idea for homosexuals to take little boys off into the woods... Wow.
No disrespect taken friend. A Republican Presidential candidate hasn’t taken WA since ‘84 and WA hasn’t elected a Republican governor since ‘80. The ‘rats have controlled both chambers of the state government for what seems like forever. Until that changes, I’m going to keep putting the state in the “heavily liberal’ category. King county and the surrounding area are so infested with liberals, it would take an army of Orkin guys to clean ‘em out.
The governors want to have sex with young boys? Nice state.
