A disabled veteran and his service dog were abused by United Airlines staff, he has claimed.
Jim Stanek, a three-tour Iraq veteran suffering from post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, said employees of the airline kicked his dog, Sarge, and asked him if he was retarded.
In a YouTube video the Paws and Stripes founder describes his ordeal which began on July 16 at Dulles International Airport in Washington.

I checked their website and called. Obviously they’re closed today (especially at this hour) but I relayed the message about getting the dog checked out by a vet and X-rayed.
I’ll call them back Tuesday morning. That’s when they’re machine says they’re open for the week.

(Yes, I know - Duh!)
Yet another nightmare story about United Airlines. It would not surprise me to know that most ground employees working at Dulles are Muslim, hence the treatment of the service dog. Hate that airport. Cant seem to fly out of there without a full body pat down.
God bless ya.
“maybe thats just me” Thats a bunch of us.
It was just a few minutes ago that I noticed “Dulles”.
NoVa is an epicenter for them.
*Lots* of them.

And they need money?
I’d really love to see *who* gave him a hard time and kicked his dog.
Possibly somebody who doesn’t love the US military?

You’re too sexy for your flight?
Too sexy for your flight?
Too sexy, is right?

While I have no doubts about shitty airline service (that's hardly a shocker) I am skeptical that employees were twice able to kick the dog in an airport terminal and a shuttle and no other witnesses have come forward or tried to intervene. Similarly, toward the end of the video things get a bit "infomercial" like when he says he's not calling for a boycott of the airline, but gives out the organization's contact info.
In any case, this is just one more reason why, when I travel, I drive and dog is my copilot.
Also...this, posted on July 3:

kind of sets my radar off.
Absolutely, especially when noticing his video of the airline episode is dated July 3rd, and his video appeal for $50,000 was uploaded to YouTube on July 20th.
OOps! I transposed the dates, but the proximity of these two video uploads invites even more speculation.
I really, really wish they had the opportunity to try it. I feel very confident that your fella would be able to remove the offending foot before it ever made contact.
It looks as if the USDOT is opening an investigation of Stanek's complaints.
I hope there is justice for the war hero and Sarge.
I used to work in a home for people with profound head trauma. You’re right. His ‘tells’ are subtle, but they are there. This guy is no sham.
Did you hear about the dyslexic agnostic?
He wasn’t sure if he could prove the existence of dog.
(From the memory dustbin via your “dog is my co-pilot” remark.)
The way I heard it, he was an insomniac, dyslexic agnostic, who spent many a sleepless night pondering the existence of dog ;-)
Sir! I will immediately update my repertoire.
Obviously the dog had heard that ‘joke’ one too many times.
Good dog.
:)
Or...you could ‘Cover it with gas and set it on fire’.
