As NewsBusters previously reported, ABC's Brian Ross, during a Good Morning America segment with co-host George Stephanopoulos, wrongly accused a Tea Party member of being Friday's Aurora, Colorado, mass murderer.
Later that day, conservative talk radio host Mark Levin said, "If ABC News corporate had an ounce of integrity it would fire both of them right now" (video follows courtesy Right Scoop with transcript and commentary):
Mark Levin tells the left to give it a rest!
MARK LEVIN: Most of us when something as tragic as what happened in Aurora this morning takes place, our hearts go out to the dead, to the families, to those who are injured. We want to know who they are, we want to know who did this, we want to know why it was done and so forth. Some of us say a prayer. What most of us dont do is search for political scapegoats. And the scapegoat seems to always be the same us.
Somehow those of us who are law-abiding, who preach the value of the individual, who oppose things like abortion and defend the greatest healthcare system in the world because we embrace a culture of life, somehow were to blame. It doesnt matter if the murderer is mentally ill as in the Tucson case, if hes disgruntled about something including himself or whatever. They look for reasons to find out if he has any connections to us.
So the media go hunting for reasons to make disgusting allegations. Its cold-blooded, theres no compassion, theyre looking to make news, theyre looking to drive ratings. This is just bizarre, and its time to call them out on it.
A few minutes later, Levin did:
When you have rogue, politically-motivated reporters like Brian Ross and George Stephanopoulos - and somehow Stephanopoulos is getting a pass both of ABC News trying to turn this into yet another disgusting attack on the Tea Party, trying to draw connections between the killer and the Tea Party, it doesnt get any lower than that. Boy these people hate us, dont they? I mean, they really hate us.Truth is, if ABC News corporate had an ounce of integrity it would fire both of them right now.
If ABC News had an ounce of integrity, Stephanopoulos, the former Bill Clinton White House adviser, would never have been hired.
Regardless, nicely said, Mark. Bravo.
Not going to happen.
Nope. It will actually backfire. The more the right demands he be fired, the more ABC will dig in their heels because they don’t want to be seen as caving in the right-wing demands. Criticize them, fine,,,but don’t demand they be fired. If the right keeps demanding they be fired, ABC won’t give Ross and Stephanopoulos so much as a days suspension.
San Francisco police cannot get THE William Ayers and the lovely Mrs. Ayers to trial for the 1971 murder of S.F. police seargent Brian McDonnell -- but at least fate is keeping the William Ayers name associated with horrible crimes that occurred just south of the site of the murder.
.. in the Holmes same-name case I hope it means that the man offended by ABC will soon be a millionaire -- with the bulk of the amount coming out of the two ABC clowns' paychecks.
Please! Remember Dan Rather?
That was a long time ago. If Rather did today what he did back then, I doubt he would be fired for it.
So basically you’re the second person here to call me old.
“That was a long time ago. If Rather did today what he did back then, I doubt he would be fired for it.”

You are right.
Today, he would just get more awards for protecting our new Marxist society.
Buy the grandparents a computer, fire it up, give them email addresses and a few good lists and sites.
Do it for America.
Truth is, if ABC News corporate had a femtogram of integrity it would fire both of them right now.
But the fifth-column ABC News has a ton of integrity's antithesis, which Brian and Georgie squat and defecate regularly on the air.
It's more effective to expose the democrat operatives masking as non-partisan reporters via a competing media market (the internet/Am Radio) than it is to expect a 90 year old to change their 50 year old habit of watching the 6:00 news.
Isn’t Brian Ross a Member of N.A.M.B.L.A. ?
Nice one. You’re really into that Paint! Good job!
Of course, Brian Ross is possibly not the pedophile reported to have molested 3 school aged boys in his college days, but hey, let HIM refute that!
levin is a “tempest in a teapot” and a blowhard.
I listened to him until the Georgia judge gave obama a pass several months ago and levin, the self- proclaimed “Constitutional Scholar”, uttered not a word about the travesty that unfolded...not a word. If he had any integrity, he would have called the judge out and exposed the hypocrisy..but he didn't and therefore, became complicent..levin should be fired.
ABC does not need to fire those two clowns.
The public is already doing that with their remotes
That’s too bad — but you could look around for a pair of 70-year-olds. Think outside the box! ;)
Keeping them allows us to point out just how wrong the MSM is.
I don’t care who you are that’s hilarious...good job!
I found the picture with the small type after “not” already inserted. I just added the captions in the white blocks to make it pop out more effectively.
“If ABC News had an ounce of integrity,”
There you have it folks, the big IF which precludes any disciplinary action by ABC.
It is time to play “hard ball” with ABC:
1. The wronged Jim Holmes of Colorado should hire the late Richard Jewell’s attorney and sue ABC, Stephanopoulos and Ross.
2. The ABC News and its related programming would not survive if we refused to watch. And refused to buy the products from their advertisers. This is the same tactic the MSM attempted to use against Rush except ... there are more of us than them!
Just Google any of the mentioned “accusations” with “ABC News Brian Ross”. With enough “hits” the “projection” will become standard.
