As NewsBusters previously reported, ABC's Brian Ross, during a Good Morning America segment with co-host George Stephanopoulos, wrongly accused a Tea Party member of being Friday's Aurora, Colorado, mass murderer.
Later that day, conservative talk radio host Mark Levin said, "If ABC News corporate had an ounce of integrity it would fire both of them right now" (video follows courtesy Right Scoop with transcript and commentary):
Mark Levin tells the left to give it a rest!
MARK LEVIN: Most of us when something as tragic as what happened in Aurora this morning takes place, our hearts go out to the dead, to the families, to those who are injured. We want to know who they are, we want to know who did this, we want to know why it was done and so forth. Some of us say a prayer. What most of us dont do is search for political scapegoats. And the scapegoat seems to always be the same us.
Somehow those of us who are law-abiding, who preach the value of the individual, who oppose things like abortion and defend the greatest healthcare system in the world because we embrace a culture of life, somehow were to blame. It doesnt matter if the murderer is mentally ill as in the Tucson case, if hes disgruntled about something including himself or whatever. They look for reasons to find out if he has any connections to us.
So the media go hunting for reasons to make disgusting allegations. Its cold-blooded, theres no compassion, theyre looking to make news, theyre looking to drive ratings. This is just bizarre, and its time to call them out on it.
A few minutes later, Levin did:
When you have rogue, politically-motivated reporters like Brian Ross and George Stephanopoulos - and somehow Stephanopoulos is getting a pass both of ABC News trying to turn this into yet another disgusting attack on the Tea Party, trying to draw connections between the killer and the Tea Party, it doesnt get any lower than that. Boy these people hate us, dont they? I mean, they really hate us.Truth is, if ABC News corporate had an ounce of integrity it would fire both of them right now.
If ABC News had an ounce of integrity, Stephanopoulos, the former Bill Clinton White House adviser, would never have been hired.
Regardless, nicely said, Mark. Bravo.
Not going to happen.
If not fired, a BIG FRONT PAGE APOLOGY on every newspaper in America.
it’s amazing to me that they pretend as though we don’t know that stephendwarfolous was a member (no pun intended) of the clenis administration.
sure. no bias there.
ABC is dead to me
Please! Remember Dan Rather?
Agreed.
Everyone needs to remember one thing. While Ross and every other jump the gun propagandist needs to be held responsible, most of them are just a face and a voice. The producers/editors behind the scenes are the people who put the words and accusations in their mouths.
None of the on air personalities takes direct calls from the public/people reporting. The info ALL goes through an editor/producer and WRITER before being blabbed at random.
the reporter on the scene segments are all done under a ROE policy set by the station/company. Theres a lot of people guilty for these mistakes.
Different times.
If Ross had come out and said he found someone with the same name as the murderer who posted on a website supporting gay marriage....hmm....i wonder if he’d still have a job today?
I haven’t watched that pos network in years.
The State Run Media doesn’t fire people who do the direct bidding of The State.
They probably both got an under-the-table bonus.
I didn’t even think of that! Ross would have been tossed out in an instant!
Yes, it is "different times" but it's certainly not to the advantage of the old the BIG three.
To me the glass is half full.
I hope all these great small business people are ready for their audit, because the Leftists in DC will want to punish them for this.
Hat tip to The Great One.
Oops, wrong thread. I meant to post on the “I built this” thread. Sorry all.
Little Georgie’s ties to the klintons will protect him.

The chances of your request being considered by abc, is equal to the chances of me hitting the FL lotto.
