By sticking with its own standards, [insert any of the 57 States] can build on its past investments and existing infrastructure and make deliberate improvements only in the areas that need them, rather than be forced into a massive realignment of all the components of its system. Yes, Federal control is not desirable. States need flexibility in ALL areas.

TWO, common sense, almost conservative articles from the Austin-Statesman should be some kind of red-letter date for Texas!
That paper could have made Pravda blush with the level and visceral bias in their articles!
Did they get a new editor or WHAT?? Oh, never mind - college is out right now, so they can afford to write these articles without the fear of 25K screaming, liberal idiots picketing their doorstep.

This tinkering does nothing to fix the real problem; our single payer socialized school industry. The real fix is to return to a free market capitalist school industry and get government out of it all together.
