You can understand her denial???? I hope you don't mean to imply some kind of sympathy or exoneration of her role in all this.
What kind of woman could deny the molestation of children under her own roof, by the very man who swore to "love & cherish" her? A man with whom she had adopted SONS?!?! That is simply sick. SICK. As sick as what he was doing.

Her denial caused many innocent children to continue to be abused while her husband went about his merry ways.
There should be no acceptance or excusal of such behavior. She’s almost as sick as he is and should be prosecuted for lying under oath.

I can understand her denial. Mrs. S didn't want to lose her status in the community. That was what was most important to her, more than innocent young lives being ruined.
