Do you get it yet? It looks like Gilbert ‘mined’ the remainder of the website, used the images in his book or film or what-ever, then had the website closed down. $$$.
And now he’s trying to tell us that he found the material at Frank Marshall Davis house.
And yes, FMD was into photography. He was observed taking photographs of the Hawaii coastline, which was a little suspicious...and whilst he was still in Chicago, he was associated with RICHARD WRIGHT who DID have a photo-studio, he and FMD worked on the same publication, Richard Wright supplied the images, FMD the text.
Still doesn’t make the unidentified free-vintage-porn.com girl Stanley Ann Dunham.
I have never claimed that any of those photos are of Ann. I have snooped around an erotica vintage site to see photos that were of that time period. They look like they were designed to be erotica - not just some photo a guy took of his girlfriend.
They look like the time period. The new ones that I hadn’t seen before sort of look like Macy Moore.
Yes, it doesn’t pass the smell test to believe this guy just suddenly found photos at FMD’s old house..but then again..I AM NOT CLAIMING THEY ARE OF ANN.
Fred, I am surprised that someone as diligent as you would not know some things which I have already learned. Frank Davis photographed nudes, and he had been doing so since 1939. In his book "Livin' the Blues" Frank Davis mentions quite explicitly how he uses his photographic talents to mostly take nude photographs of women. He brags about how easy it is to get them to strip and pose for him.
If you listened to the video trailer, you will note that the narration describing the "Horizontal cameos" (i.e. nude photos) is in Frank Davis' voice. It was FRANK DAVIS affirming that he liked to take nude photographs of women.
You are certainly over-sure of your opinions in the absence of information which you ought to know.
As for Frank Davis' things, My recollection is that the Local University had quite a lot of Frank Davis Stuff from his office, because He had a long ongoing relationship with them. I believe he was a literary professor there or something. I've seen a video produced by students of the University who were celebrating his life. It is quite possible that some of his stuff could have been found there.
