The problem I see...is that black churches have typically had three or four sermons per year, on the gay lifestyle. They’ve preached and cited quotes from the Bible. So now, the NAACP appears on the scene....assumes that the ministers and churches will step right into place and be pro-gay. It basically makes absolute fools out of the ministers and half of them would have to retire because they just can’t do this without bursting into a laugh.

I suggest the end result here is a parting of the ways with black churches and the NAACP. Some churches might be able to find the right ministers and still walk in step, but the majority will find another path.

It’s simply another sign of the times....an organization has outlived most of its practical use.

It’s an insult for the NAACP to allow the people it supposedly represents be equated to a deviant-behavior group.

I was just thinking about it, but it occurs to me that I haven’t seen any young “leaders” in the NAACP for some time. I wonder how the black churches are doing also? I bet that participation among young black men in their teens and 20’s has diminished immensely.

This pastor has it exactly right. This goes beyond simply religion. Homosexual “marriage” is contrary to the natural order, and as such, it can never, ever be equal to real marriage. Homosexual sex is simply two members of the same sex engaging in mutual masturbation. While there may be love, there can never, ever be a union in the true sense of the word, where two literally become one in their offspring.

Living as God designed us provides the best chance of a long, healthy, and happy life. The pastor is absolutely correct. Life long heterosexual unions are the best way of raising the next generation, and it’s good for the parents, too.

Now the lines can clearly be drawn as they really are - not between black and white, but between liberal and conservative, between Judeo-Christian values and the anti-Christian spirit.

Well, he did it. Obama is so greedy, and he lusted so much for the political power/vote that he expected to gain by approving same sex marriage that he literally opened "Pandora's Box."

The man is evil, maybe more than we actually say lightly in trying to describe his actions. It is now very obvious that with Obama there is more than just a narcissistic malady. This last proclamation of approval of same sex marriage shows that his tormented mind and soul has been overtaken completely. We already knew that Obama has no love for this country. Now it is obvious he has no respect for the sanctity of marriage between a male and a female, the basis upon which all morality is founded. . It is no wonder. His background and dysfunctional family environment did not give him a healthy foundation in either a family or country. His mother dragged him around and gave him no roots or appreciation for America; then abandoned him. And his "father" whoever that was, or was told was his father, was not on the scene.

As a result, Obama didn’t know where he fit in or where and to whom he belonged. He grew up without a country or close, loving family attachments, or belief in the importance of the family unit. He might talk about the importance of the family, in order to fool people into believing that he values the traditional unit, but he speaks with a forked tongue; Obama only values himself.

It is easy for Obama to lie and cause conflict because has lived without empathy for others, without scruples, without fear of the consequences of telling lies, without respect for the truth and those who uphold the truth, and as now revealed so clearly, without respect for the importance of having both a mother and father. I am sure, as much as I hate to say it, that in their relationship, it is only Michelle who values the natural family unit. Her husband has no real grasp of it, and I can imagine that Michelle has learned that and it has been a difficult point to deal with over the years. In actuality, and because of his mother’s behavior, Obama has no respect for women, particularly those who oppose him, and none for other men who do not advance his goals. His parents and subsequent role models gave him only negative feelings about our country and basic moral principles and family relationships.

With the advent of Obama on our country it has become very clear that the war for all we hold dear is not just being fought on this mortal level. It is truly being waged between the good and evil spirits on a higher level. If you believe in God, you must also believe in the Devil and the battle he has always waged to destroy God's followers and bring the Devil's darkness upon the world. The Devil is using Obama as an instrument of evil; he has tempted Obama with thoughts of grandeur and has filled his heart and soul with desire for power and adoration.

Clouded by the Devil’s temptations, Obama lives without a basic desire to please God or obey His rules. The man sees only himself and his goals as paramount in his life, and considers nothing else as he works to achieve them. He has been the perfect pawn for those who wish to destroy our country, because he, like all evil people, is only capable of destruction. One can only fear what other destructive thoughts and plans of Obama's might be "evolving."

His entire term has been focused on destroying our Constitution, our economy, our status as a nation, our domestic tranquility, the lives of the unborn, our religious freedoms and Judeo-Christian values, and now he has announced he supports destroying God's ordained natural family unit of marriage between a man and a woman. If this man gets another term there is more than national doom ahead. Anyone who votes for him, or allows him to win by not voting (or wasting their vote on someone who cannot possibly win) is, unknowingly, acting as an arm of the devil and doing just as the devil wants.

Through Obama the Devil has gained a huge stronghold on America and many of the citizens of our country. Evil is working fearlessly and openly trying to destroy and divide us in every possible way. We don't have to search to find it...it is standing defiantly in front of our eyes. Divisiveness, even among the good is rampant and is being fanned. There is more anger being promoted between the races, between men and women, the rich and less fortunate, every aspect of our lives in order to cause unrest and chaos and give Obama and his anti-American, anti-Christian, immoral and power-worshiping friends more strength and more time to finish the job the Dark Side has called him (and them) to do.

No matter how some might want to try to defend, explain or rationalize objections to Romney (and I have reservations also, there is no perfect candidate...but we must see beyond that and see what/who is the TRUE and GREATER enemy fighting for our country) - we must not let Obama win!

The return to our American life, as we knew it, might take long, it might not go perfectly, and it might not be all the way we want with Romney at the helm, but...it will not continue to plunge into the darkness of immorality, lust, division, hatred, jealousy and envy, as it has done so rapidly in the past three years.

Obama must be stopped, even if the sword we have been handed is not the one of our choice, or the longest or the best, we must wield the weapon given to us so we can to end this fall into the depths of the world of the Devil.

And so here we all are instead of endeavoring to lead a fulfilled life and see the dream of MLK become a reality now get tripped up by debating a basic biological function called ‘marriage’. 21 centuries later and mankind is still amazingly stupid. Some ‘evolvement’ ay?

Dr. Alveda C. King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., said that neither her grandfather nor her uncle “embraced the homosexual agenda that the current NAACP is attempting to label as a civil rights agenda.”

“We who marched with Rev. King did not march one inch or one mile to promote same-sex marriage,” agreed Rev. William Owens, founder and president of the Coalition of African American Pastors.

He explained that redefining marriage is counter to Dr. King’s work because it is a political attempt to “declare that an act contrary to God’s law and to the natural law is a civil right.”

Excellent quotes.

McCoy said that despite its long record of important work, however, the NAACP's latest move does not reflect the views of its constituents.

Sure it does. The entire Black church, from the most mainstream big city congregation to the poorest and most rural in the Mississippi Delta, long ago put all their stock in liberal politics and liberal politicians. They have not only screamed loud and long about every liberal crusade to come down the pike but have been absolutely absent on any and all movements that sought to slow or turn back the immoralist onslaught. They have disappeared without a word while their supposed "co-religionists" have been mocked and pilloried for believing in Biblical inerrancy or opposing Hollywood filth. With their head firmly planted in the tachat of the Sixties, their silence has given white liberals permission to skewer their "co-religionists" for the very beliefs the Black church allegedly shared. This whole thing serves them right. The chickens are coming home to roost. About time, too. Now let them see what it feels like, poor dears. Wonder if they'll be able to handle having their religious beliefs made fun of? After all, they've never had to experience it before.

Dr. Alveda C. King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., said that neither her grandfather nor her uncle “embraced the homosexual agenda that the current NAACP is attempting to label as a civil rights agenda.”

For all the good that she does, Dr. Alveda King is being dishonest here. She well knows that her uncle and father were not orthodox chrstians at all but liberal Protestants to whom "religion" was a mere tool for advancing purely rational moral crusades. It is part of her testimony that she once had an abortion, and I notice her "religious right" family never protested. Furthermore, her current positions come from an orthodox Protestant religious conversion which she had to undergo despite growing up in an allegedly "religious" family.

“We who marched with Rev. King did not march one inch or one mile to promote same-sex marriage,” agreed Rev. William Owens, founder and president of the Coalition of African American Pastors.

Right and wrong are determined by G-d, not Rev. King. Martin Luther King was a typical liberal Protestant who rejected all the orthodox doctrines from a very early age. He was a Unitarian-Universalist in all but name. And Rev. Owens probably knows that.

When will the Black church admit that "Rev." King was a secularist who used religious language?
