Not only does this explanation stink to high heaven, it looks like they are on a fishing expedition to justify this shooting by taking the computers and surveilance equipment.

Pinging you for an update:

Sheriff Wants State to do Independent Review of Loxahatchee Groves Fatal Shooting

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw today asked the state to conduct an independent review of the May 16 officer-involved shooting in which a Loxahatchee Groves man died.

Bradshaw wants the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to review his department's handling of the death of Seth Adams, 24.

Sheriff's Sgt. Michael Custer, a 14-year veteran of the department, fired multiple bullets into Adams, who was unarmed, that night after a confrontation outside the A One Garden Shop at A Road and Okeechobee Boulevard.

Bradshaw has defended Custer's behavior. He said Adams came home that night and found Custer conducting undercover surveillance. A struggle ensued, causing Custer to be in fear for his life thinking Adams was armed.

The shooting was justified, Bradshaw said, and he warned anyone who assaults an officer: The deputy has the right to shoot. Bradshaw's request came the day The Palm Beach Post published a story questioning the way sheriff's office personnel handled the shooting.

A lawyer for the Adams family said deputies let Adams bleed to death, choosing instead of tackle his brother, David, who ran out of the family trailer on A Road to rescue him. Seth Adams had twice called his brother to say he had been "shot by a cop."

"He could have been saved," the lawyer, Valentin Rodriguez, told The Post on Thursday. "This was complete disregard for his medical care. These weren't shots to kill. You're supposed to render aid."

In the shooting's aftermath, Custer has been placed on administrative leave, and a public outcry has led to an online petition with nearly 3,000 signees on Change.org calling for "a fair investigation."

Sincerely appreciate your followup on this story.

The Sheriff has washed his hands of this by handing the investigation over to the State authorities as I see it. He knows the deputy screwed up, and wants no part of what will entail should he take on the responsibility to investigate himself.

I think the deputy is in hot water on this one. I am thinking some relations are involved, or the reason for the undercover surveillance is being witheld.

To be continued.....

No problem, I've been waiting to see an update and it came this afternoon.

Can you believe they let him die like that? The brother says they stopped him from helping his brother and he shouldn't have died from the wounds but they didn't call paramedics and let him bleed to death. I don't care what Bradshaw says, this was not justified. I believe they let him die rather than have him be a witness against the deputy.

“I believe they let him die rather than have him be a witness against the deputy.”

Agree.
