EXCLUSIVE: Romney 'Repudiates' Conservative Group's Planned Rev. Wright Attacks By Guy Benson 5/17/2012
In an exclusive interview with Townhall, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney rebuked a conservative group that is reportedly planning to assail President Obama over his 20-year relationship with controversial Chicago pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright:
"I repudiate the effort by that PAC to promote an ad strategy of the nature they've described. I would like to see this campaign focus on the economy, on getting people back to work, on seeing rising incomes and growing prosperity -- particularly for those in the middle class of America. And I think what we've seen so far from the Obama campaign is a campaign of character assassination. I hope that isn't the course of this campaign. So in regards to that PAC, I repudiate what they're thinking about ... It's interesting that we're talking about some Republican PAC that wants to go after the president [on Wright]; I hope people also are looking at what he's doing, and saying 'why is he running an attack campaign? Why isn't he talking about his record?'"

Just shut the hell up and let others do the talking. What a jackass!
That’s actually a pretty clever move. The super PAC attacks Wright and Romney gets to say above the fray.
“He should be going after the Wright/Obama connection in a forthright, unequivocal and no-holds-barred manner. Wrights anti-Americanism makes him a legitimate target.”
But Obama already turned away SUCCESSFULLY from Wright.
Obama is personally well liked.
For Romney to get personal with a well liked person, over a settled topic, is politically stupid.
We got people here saying they won’t vote for Romney, but full of advice for how to win elections.
It may be a strategy to keep his Mormonism out of the limelight. Maybe he’s afraid that some of Joseph Smith’s and Brigham Young’s words and writings will be brought up in campaign ads.
Just don’t let it happen again. :)
Romney has been horrible to his fellow Repubs, but perish the thought of attacking a real evil visited upon our nation.
I want Newt! I want Sarah! I do not want this GOP-E WUSS.
VAUDINE
What a crock. Mormonism is known as a sick, perverted cult founded in the mid 1800s by guys who threw out the bible and "marriage as one man, one woman, for thousands of years" and started marrying women and 14 year old girls by the dozens, who hated Christianity and America, and then went into deep cover after gaining an entire state as their base.
The more elite men such as GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney are expected to become a God, in the future, Romney joins the countless Mormon Gods who will rule over all Americans, all humans, all the Catholic Popes and Christian preachers will be born again as Mormons and will worship Mitt Romney or one of his fellow Mormon Gods, because all Americans will be baptized into Mormonism after death instead of joining our Christian God in heaven, at least, according to the teachings of the Mormon leader and Bishop, who is the republican presidential nominee.
When Obama reveals that Mitt got approval from a holy Prophet to run for president, and that his campaign and the Mormon cult are teamed together, as the people can see as they watch the coordinated Mormon recruiting efforts on their TVs, right next to Bishop Romney's presidential campaign ads.
More people may find that much more intriguing, and enduringly fascinating than a political story that ended back in 2008, and is a years outdated association between a black guy sitting in a pew, and a rabid Protestant, black, Christian preacher.
Just like almost every other conservative issue, Romney cannot really speak out effectively or with moral authroity.
I know... Believe me, I know...
Last great act of defiance and all that. Go down with the sinking ship, etc., etc., etc...
Mitt is not my favored candidate. He was pretty much last on my list. I don't like him, I will probably NEVER like him, and if I had the chance, I would probably kick him in the nuts just for general principles. BUT despite his flaws, he's still infinitely preferable to another four years of Obama.
So, yes, I am going to campaign for Mitt. Yes, I am going to support him in every way I can. Yes, I am going to follow his campaign and comment on issues and tactics, most especially on how they impact Conservatives and Independents because those two groups are going to determine whether there will BE a United States of America in another four years time.
This election is IT. If we lose this time around, if Obama has a chance to stuff the Supreme Court with another two or three Liberal judges, if he is allowed to continue trampling the Constitution, there will be no way we can return to the Republic of our Founders save war.
Time to wake up and smell the coffee, Postem or Sanka.
Now, on Wright, I tend to disagree. I also disagree that he is well-liked. He was in 2008, but I think a lot of Americans have seen through his BS by now. He's not nearly as popular as he used to be and a lot of his support is mere lip service. We shall see.
Playing in the gutter is Obama’s turf. HE would love to make the election about everything but the economy and the budget disaster.
The only thing conservatives should talk about is jobs, jobs, josb snf then jobs.
Everything else is noise.
>> We got people here saying they wont vote for Romney, but full of advice for how to win elections <<
Agreed that at first glance, it does seem awfully ironic.
But let’s look at it this way:
If you really hate Romney so much that you actually want Big Ø to win — which seems to describe a handful of FReepers — then presumably you want to give Romney bad advice in order to help him lose!
Therefore, I gotta think it’s perfectly understandable that somebody with “Romney Derangement Syndrome” would say Romney should personally hammer away like crazy on the Rev. Wright connection.
This is just another in a loooooong line of reasons as to why this pos mangina will NEVER see my vote.
LLS
Watch Hannity tonight and listen to the interview with wright and get back to me on your thoughts.
LLS
How about a 150,000 dollar bribe to wright for his silence and a box full of evidence that obama is a fake and much worse and he said many things in this interview that would destroy obama.
LLS
Here goes the McCainiation of the Romney campaign; fight HARD AS NAILS against Conservatives, but when Going against a Marxist..fugetabodit!
romney was NEVER going to win... he can’t win... and as times goes forward... our warnings will become reality.
LLS
I haven’t looked at the comments but I’m sure others feel the way I reacted to the headline: Romney is a loser, just like McCain.
