Oh no.
Besides Troy, the Brothers were the only ones I actually liked.
What a shame.

I watched the show for the first time yesterday at mom's. My first thought was these guys give rural people a bad name. My second was one of these guys is going to get killed. I guess I was right. I worked in the logging and tree care industry for 20 years. I don't see how they get away with the unsafe crap they pull for the camera. OSHA should be up thier a*s. They are lucky more haven't got killed. Gives the industry a bad name.

Indeed it is. Yet we may be consoled to a degree by the surmise that dying in such a way is what he would have preferred.

I don't see how they get away with the unsafe crap they pull for the camera. The Guist brothers just hunt and fish on that show.

Very sad news...I loved watching the Guist brothers.

I think you were watching axmen not swamp people. Nobody in swamp people does anything more interesting with trees than tying line to them. There is a guy in the swamps on axmen, and he’s crazy, but mostly works alone so OSHA will never get him. Most of the really “dangerous” stuff on axmen is minor accidents with good editing to make it look scary, like when Alice Cooper gets beheaded.

Awww, this is sad. I actually like those guys and love the show. The brothers epitomized the “image” most people who have never lived in deeply rural areas have of folks like these. I’ll bet it amused them too.
What many don’t seem to notice is that what these people lack in social graces they own in self-sufficiency and a long history of close community. Far from being stupid, they have a wealth of knowledge that allows them to live a very unique lifestyle.

I my self envy the way they live and if I had the chance I would take that type of living any day.
I grew up hunting and fishing in NW PA and except for the critters they hunt compared to what I hunt not much different just more teeth.
They don't need no stinking OSHA!!!
OH and what industry gets the bad name?
I have ate road kill before.
Really.
To: BerryDingle
I was just talking bout those two.
Sad.

OSHA should be up thier a*s.
Spoken like a real liberal there.
Sic the govment on dem boyz.
I think you got these brothers confused with Uncle Shelby of AX Men and those two crews in Florida, also in Ax Men.
