You quote from the email and then ignore the following paragraph. It to means what it says... 'endorsement'
That to me says 'endorsement' as of the writing and not at some future time. JMO.The Santorum email

Above all else, we both agree that President Obama must be defeated. The task will not be easy. It will require all hands on deck if our nominee is to be victorious. Governor Romney will be that nominee and he has my endorsement and support to win this the most critical election of our lifetime.

Deport is right and I blew it, big time.
I read Rick Santorum’s email late last night when it arrived in my in-box, focused on Santorum’s statement about a future major announcement (which he's said several times recently) and missed a key word in a key sentence near the end of the email. What I thought he said was Santorum would support Romney **IF** he is the nominee, not that Romney “will be that nominee.”
That is a major screwup on my end. The readers of this thread deserve my apology.
I think I need to go get some coffee. I've been up way too long, but that's no excuse when I make a mistake this serious.
Over and out. I have a date with Maxwell House.
