I spend a good bit of time in Charlotte over the last year and although I knew its boomtown status (albeit past its prime) meant a lot of outsiders drawn by economics, I was dismayed at the lack of honey-dipped Southern tones among the public. I was even more dismayed at the surfeit of obnoxious Yankee accents and attitudes.

This is what has happened to the New York City suburbs. The liberals move out of New York and into counties like Westchester, vote for out of control school budgets, liberal elected officials, and stupid laws (like not letting your vehicle idle for more than five minutes). They drive up the costs for the native residents who then can no longer afford to live there.

They have destroyed most of the suburbs and now move down south to wreak havoc there. If I were a southerner, I would never sell my house to a New Yorker. They foul up every place they live.
