You speak for me, dearest Marcella. I caught his speech on Fox by accident because my husband was watching the channel to see the news about Junior Seau and only because eldest son had just called to tell him to turn on Fox!

Fox can go jump in a lake. I haven’t watched them in weeks. FR is a better news source by far.

observer called Newt's speech "spellbinding" Only Newt Gingrich could turn the rote task of suspending a presidential campaign into riveting theater.

Great speech...not an ounce of self pity or blame...just forging ahead and reminders of what needs to be done now. Such a great man....all about Country and the People Imo.

It was a pleasure to vote for Newt. It was an honor to be "with" him in his run.

Sadly, the voters had no use for the ONLY American the manipulative GOPE and the Marxists in power together, actually feared.

Nothing is set in cement.

I continue praying for Divine Intervention.

It's still months from this convention.

Shep Smith must have been in one of his bitchy hormonal moods.

“Night of the Living Dead” is a great movie!

He’s not only gonna endorse Romney, he’s going to ‘sell’ his endorsement for the price of Romney helping him retire his campaign debt.

At least Santorum’s price for endorsing Romney is getting Romney to agree to some of Santorum’s pet projects.

The beloved, or should I say formerly beloved Mr. Herman Cain made a very fervent endorsement of Romney.

Wonder what Sarah will do?

So glad that I got to vote for Newt in our primary. Other than Sarah it’s what I wanted. Seems to me that Sarah saw or was told ‘we will break you if you get in the race’. Romney’s money just doesn’t run out.

She will endorse Romney, and try to help him get elected. She has made it very clear defeating Obama is her priority, and unfortunately Romney is the only alternative.

YQW tomkat:) I did get a laugh out of Newt’s response when asked if Romney was conservative and Newt said something like “compared to Obama or Reagan?” that was absolute vintage Newt.

Me too CW. I haven’t watched Fox all week and feel so much better for it. In my opinion they are an arrogant bunch of media elitists that endorsed Romney so they will continue to get their invites to the WH dinners and cocktail parties.

Missed the speech, thanks for the summary.

Shepard Smith is a heavily made up queen.

Gingrich was the last hope for the Republic, the Washingtonians will suck every last dollar from our hides and then go underground in their bunkers when the collapse hits.

SS trust fund to run dry in 2033.

I wonder what it is in Beck that wants to kick someone when they are on the ground and keep kicking them when he keeps talking up love so much?

Beck is a rising member of Bishop FLIP SLICK WILLARD'S cult.

Small potatoes in the cult hierarchy compared to "Mitt", but very ambitious.

I’m surprised they didn’t find an extra chair for Greg Jarrett to come on and talk about how Newt appears to have been possessed by Satan and may in fact be the Anti-Christ.

I could never stand Shep’s show, but I’ve also been leaving FOX off most of the last few days. I still think Hannity’s on “our” side for the most part and O’Reilly is mostly fair and balanced, but it’s pretty much impossible to listen to the pro-Romney guests. And I don’t think I’ll be able to get much utility over the next 6 months hearing about how awful Obama is, which I already know, and how wonderful Romney is, which is a joke. I’ve also been trying to wean myself off the channel after Ailes claimed Newt would never be back on their network again, and it appears to have turned out to be true since Newt hasn’t made one appearance on FOX since then.

Dear Onyx,

I'm praying right along with you! Lightning can strike anywhere and God willing, we may yet come out of this convention with something better than the Mittster and his liberal drones.

If not, I'm writing in Sarah Palin in the biggest letters they'll let me use!!

I fear that Obummer will win another four years. But just in case, I'm gonna find a bumper sticker that says, "Don't Blame Me I Voted for Palin!" if Romney wins and we find out just how awful -he- can be.

I see this as part of a larger plan for the re-vitalization of America. It may be that this year (and the next four) have to take America a little farther down the dark road before she can be turned around.

But turn around she will, and in my lifetime, God willing! I'm 60, BTW, so there's still time! :)

the main beneficiary of this is ronPaul who will collect more delegates ... Newt shoulda stayed minimally active just to trip up ronPaul in the last 10 (?) primaries.

RonPaul got traction vs McCain after Huckabee dropped out in 2008

Such a heavy heart I have. Newt was really our last chance. Was and is the absolute BEST man for the job.

This country, including many, many so-called Republicans, is terminally stupid, and now on a terminal path to collapse.

Maybe Newt will be waiting at the other end to lead us all once we rise again from the ashes.

It’s just a dream of mine.

“I could never stand Shep’s show, but I’ve also been leaving FOX off most of the last few days.”

I am at home all the time and I have punched on Fox every day for years. It was always on until the afternoon when I would watch a movie if there was one I wanted to see - if not, it stayed on Fox.

When they started dumping on Newt, even Krauthammer did it, I was shocked and really disappointed. I thought I would go into “withdrawal symptoms” when I switched them off, but I was so mad at them, it wasn’t a problem.

If I just want to check the news, I’ll put it on CNN to see if the world is exploding, then click it off. The zombie movie I watched after Shep did his thing today, was much better than him.

I live alone (well, not exactly alone, I have my Yorkie guard dog) and I like the TV on while I do “stuff” on my computer. Yes, I multi-task.

Anyway, I’n not putting it on Fox any more.

Sarah Palin has repeatedly said ABO = Anyone but Obama. All of Romney's former rival candidates, (save for Ron Paul who's iffy) pledged they would support the eventual nominee, but Romney is not yet the certified nominee.

That point can be argued until the cows come home, that he is inevitable, but that doesn't make him the nominee. I remain praying for Divine Intervention. A lot can happen between now and the convention In fact, anything can happen.

Sarah Palin has made it crystal clear that Romney is her least favorite of all the candidates, by continuing to call for the process to continue, the vetting to continue, and for Newt Gingrich to stay in the race! She continued to call for Ron Paul to stay in the race, and he is.

Now, it looks like the big-government, pro-abortion, liberal liar from Massachusetts has managed to buy the GOP-E nomination, so once his nomination is set in cement at the convention, (and hopefully not before) I'm sure Sarah Palin will follow through with her ABO endorsement, then she will go about working her butt off for TEA PARTY candidates across this nation, in state houses and the US. Senate & House like she always has through her SarahPAC!

If you're right, and Rick Santorum wants to endorse him ahead of the convention, for the reasons you cited, then that's entirely up to him.

I'm happy that Newt Gingrich didn't endorse him yesterday, because, he's not yet the nominee.
