Because, then, it’s my money involved. And I’m not about to waste it.

Common sense tells one that if the point was to make money FR would be a commercial venture. It is not. Commercial investors have a say in content and FR is free of any outside interference. Jim Robinson could have sold out and been rich long ago. Instead he lets people like you insult him.

And do you still retain ownership and control of all the things you give as gifts? Once you give something away, you do realize that it is no longer
yours to do with as you please, don't you? You can no more direct the application of your donation to FR than any other gift you give.

Contributions are neither investments nor shares in Free Republic, LLC. Once you freely give your donation, it is no longer yours to control. FR
has no obligation to disclose its financials to any donor, even though the budget is available for perusal on this site from a link on the Donations page.
