Texas Gov. Rick Perry originally endorsed Newt Gingrich as the top candidate after dropping out of the Republican presidential race.

But with Gingrich set to quit the campaign trail, Perry on Wednesday evening gave his support to the probable nominee, Mitt Romney.

"Mitt Romney has earned the Republican presidential nomination through hard work, a strong organization, and [a] disciplined message of restoring America after nearly four years of failed job-killing policies from President [Barack] Obama and his administration," Perry said in a statement provided to FOX News Channel.

"So today I join the many conservative Republicans across the nation in endorsing Mitt Romney for president and pledge to him, my constituents and the Republican Party that I will continue to work hard to help defeat President Obama.

I agree, and I see the ridiculous unwarranted attacks on him continue.

Yes, I noticed that too. They are a strange little cult, those Perry bashers.

Perry didn’t set the primary back...the democrats in the state government did because they didn’t like the redistricting borders and voter ID laws so they blocked it and pushed our primary back to where it is beyond hope to change things now.

I am SO angry at them. Governor Perry did his best for the
voters and the DUM-o-crats were the dirty birds!

Zot the troll! :)

Pity really, that those of you who pulled that stunt in 2008, are going to do it again.

WRONG!! They voted for SARAH PALIN. You heard this many times but it still didn't seem to register with you. And McCain wasn't the pro homo baby killing maggot that mitt is.

Get this - the POS maggot Mitt will NEVER get my vote and it is not a STUNT.

IT IS MITT who PULLED THE STUNT ON AMERICA. A pro homo, baby killing, socialistic healthcare, liberal appointing judges, anti-gun candidate, KNOWN LIAR on a GOP TICKET. Get your facts right on who pulls STUNTS.

Save your pity, really, you will need it when mitt's stunt meets barry's stunt.

I know it. Those damn democrats and their redistricting.

Texas deserved to have a big say! Voters were robbed on a grand scale.

Y’all were scheduled for a nationally televised debate, too!

[Fingers in ears] Not listening, not listening, not listening, not listening. If I don’t hear Sarah’s sellout when she sells out does that mean she didn’t do it?

Not Sarah.

What a childish statement that is. PDS much?

The same people will call Newt a communist then. To put it bluntly, I can’t stand Romney, but I will vote for him to get Obama and his administration out. Those that don’t go vote against Obama are contributing to the demise of our nation. They may be self-described conservatives, but they are not PATRIOTS. Not voting will not send anyone a message, as some believe, but Obama will have plenty of messages if he is re-elected, and they won’t be good. And Holder will stay...And Zero will appoint more judges and czars..

This “I’m staying at home” bull is beyond stupid.”

They may be self-described conservatives, but they are not PATRIOTS.

Bowing to your masters and voting for their choice is patriotic?

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

In politics the middle way is none at all. John Adams

"Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that ever I took half the pains to preserve it."
John Adams

“Well.. what now, FR?”

“Mitt IS the Republican nominee. Unless you want four more years of Obama, it’s time to rally round our Mormon???”

“Not gonna be easy for most around here.”

It will be EASY for me. I refuse to sit home feeling sorry for myself and having hissy fit that MY candidate of choice didn't win. I WILL NOT ALLOW THE MARXIST ANOTHER FOUR YEARS TO FINISH DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY!

Houghton M got little man syndrome.

Do you know if this article confirmed. Seems like this past week’s articles about Newt - every day hearing about him dropping out and last night on TV he spoke about mitt’s arrogance and mentioned his 21 campaign visits he has planned for the next week.
