I’m no fan of mitt’s ether, but you need to get over it and put your country first. If things pan out the way it looks, you can ether help obumber get re-elected. Or you can help mitt get elected, it’s just that simple.
As much as I dislike Romney you would have to be insane not to vote for him if he is the nominee
You actually believe we would be better off voting in as many conservatives as possible and having Obama in office than if we voted in as many conservatives as possible and had Romney?
If that's your position then something has gone dreadfully wrong in your thinking. We have an undocumented, unvetted, full blown commie in the white house. We must rid the country of this fraud of a man no matter who the Republican Nominee may be. We can't elect enough conservatives to make the country safe from 4 more years of Obama, Holder, and all the rest of the commie thugs he brought along.
Wake up!
Last time I voted for McCain hoping that he would croak and Palin would then become president...but I actually felt dirty when I walked out of the voting booth. I promised myself that I wouldn’t compromise my principles again. I still have a chance to vote for Gingrich here in NC and that will be it for me.
There you go.
I can work with that.
But it still leaves that top spot unaddressed.
When is the RNC going to get the message?
It didn’t work in 2008. It didn’t work so far this year.
What choice do we have in November, than to make it crystal clear they cannot get someone elected without our help?
If we do buy into the idea that anyone but Obama is the operative phrase this year, then we seal the fate of Conservatism. We will prove the RNC right, that they can manipulate the process again and again, and we’ll fall in line.
No. I’ve given it enough thought. Obama may do many bad things, but he won’t be doing it in my name. Romney would be doing it in my name.
No way Jose.
A man that can do these things, does not represent me.

Crap, is crap, is crap...
Amen!
I will NOT vote for Romney. I will NOT vote the enemy into my house.
Jim, I am in active rebellion against the GOP-E.
Sent Newt another donation.
I want Newt to get to Tampa and shake things up.
I will be voting for Newt here in DE on 4/24.
And I am praying that on 4/24 God has mercy on America and changes the direction of this race, away from Romney.
While there is still one conservative standing in this race, I am not throwing in the towel.
Newt toTampa , and Romney to Golub!
Thank you! Assuming Newt isn’t able to pull a rabbit out of his hat, please consider getting behing Virgil Goode.

Sorry, Jim. Will have to agree to disagree. Zot me if you must, but I’ll be voting for Romney. Four more years of Zero will destroy this country.
AND let’s keep voting for Newt in the remaining 20 state primaries that have 45% of the delegates! Mitt only has to lose a little more than half of those to be denied the 1,144 necessary for the nomination. And about half of them come from the type of states Romney has consistently been losing. Denying Romney the nomination is very doable if all conservatives rally behind Newt. This would take it to a convention fight where anyone, Newt, Palin, Santorum, Perry, West, etc. could emerge.
I agree with your sentiments. The man has no real core.
BUT - we musn’t allow Obama to get reelected!
Romney is the lesser of two evils, which about the kindest thing i can say about him.
Understood and totally agree.
I have one question - I post things from the UK news organisations from time to time about the various candidates. Is it permissable to post an article about Romney, if it shows how he is viewed here in the UK?
If you say no, it is no. This is your house, I am a guest. I am gonna hold on no until you tell me otherwise.
I have to admit that I’m still very much on the fence about whether I vote for Mittens or not if he gets the nod (I’m still voting for Newt in the NC primary next month), but your point about the other races is well taken. Whether we will support Romney or not on an individual level, it is VITAL that we get out there and push Congress and our local governments as far to the right as possible. We can’t let Romney’s presence as the nominee keep conservatives from the polls, even if we can’t support Flipper at the top of the ballot!
If Obama was a typical liberal, I wouldn’t be as concerned about leaving him in there for four more years. But the man has proven that he simply refuses to be constrained by the Constitutional separation of powers, to an extent that makes Bill Clinton look like a Tenth Amendment advocate. That’s the only thing that gives me pause about leaving the top of the ballot blank. I don’t know that even if we had a Republican House AND Senate in place, they’d have the guts to stop His Imperial Majesty The Won from going on his merry way by fiat.
Whether Obama or Romney wins, we have to push every other level of government that we can—Federal legislative, judicial, state, local, all of it—as far to the right as possible. It’s the only shot we’ve got right now. Then we pray, and we prepare, and we remember what the Republicans did to us with Romney in 2012...and we don’t let it happen again in 2016, even if Romney wins.

All well and good and most here agree, but people need to be able to focus on what they can do, not the corner they seem to be placed in.
What we can do:
1. Identify as many competitive house and senate races as possible and focus hard on those.
2. Take the message outside these ‘walls’. We can blame the establishment all we want, but it was millions of people voting to get us in this position.
3. Become as self-sufficient as possible. Do not be indebted to anyone. That is what makes one dependent and thus, more impacted by liberal policy.
4. Support PACs and causes who stand for what you believe in.
5. Did I already say get the message out? Bears repeating. Don’t preach to the choir, go outside your comfort zone.
6. Form a personal plan of action. What is your personal issue? How will you support it?
...We can’t vote for Romney but it doesn’t mean we are doomed. There are still hundreds of millions of people in this country and changing even a small percent of that to move right can have a big impact.
Thank you for this Jim. I keep saying the same thing and of course I get hate me stuff from people here. I have had several FReep mails that tell me I am stupid and I am allowing Obama to win if I do not vote for Scumney. But I will not. Period.
We would be complaining if a true conservative got the nomination and then those who support Romney did not vote for our candidate in November. We have a process and sometimes you lose. I fear we will not have a country to recover from if we have 4 more years of Obama. I voted for Newt in the primary but will hold my nose and vote for Romney in November. Sorry but I am not cutting off my node to spite my face.
