Finally, Romney gets tea party support
The Washington Times ^ | March 19, 2012 | Ralph Z. Hallow

The organization that ignited the tea party as a national mass movement gave Mitt Romney perhaps his biggest victory yet, deciding to drop its opposition to his candidacy, a top executive in the group told The Washington Times.

FreedomWorks, which organized the Sept. 12, 2009, mass demonstration on the Mall, says that while it will not give an explicit endorsement, the time has come for Republicans to unite around the former Massachusetts governor and focus on defeating President Obama.

“It is a statistical fact that the numbers favor Mitt Romney,” FreedomWorks Vice President Russ Walker told The Times on Tuesday. “We are dedicated to defeating Obama and electing a conservative Senate that will help Romney repeal Obamacare and address the nation’s economic and spending challenges.”

Mr. Romney has been winning a majority of delegates and has more than twice the number that former Sen. Rick Santorum has, and he continued that run Tuesday with a victory in Illinois.

So FreedomWorks finally confirms that it is a mere GOP-E tool.

Screw it, screw Armey, and screw Romney!

I like Dick Armey and Freedom Works.

I despise Mitt Romney. He is an elitist phoney.

Am convinced his win in Illinois in the GOP Primary is driven by Dem Ops voting in the GOP Primary.

Because Romney won Illinois? They are a blue state and Romney only won in high blue voter districts, that really doesn’t scream Tea Party.

Note to Romney, his supporters, and the GOP-e.

You can win the general with out the south.
Your not going to win the general trying to out liberal the liberal in blue states.

Romney will not win.

It’s looking more and more like we’re going to be stuck with Romney.

Well, better uncertainty with him than utter destruction with barry.

Another Romney fake tea party?

From the fake Tea Partys such as the one
which attacked Gov. Palin from Texas
created by RINO Romney and Hudack

to the FAKE polls in Texas "informing" Gov Palin not to run
created by PerryBOTs (and Romney?)
to the rumor-fomenting Sullivans in S.C.both in bed
with RINO Romney and RINO Perry
to the anti-Gov Palin rumors from PerryBOT Ken Crow in Iowa Lying that
Gov Palin would not Run for President
(Perry and Romney?)

Perry and Rove.

Romney and Rove.

RINOs all -- Tied to the navel of Soros and Sharia.

Misogynists working together against Gov. Palin and conservatives.

NO ROMNEY. EVER. That is why there are no votes for Romney.

Initially, the Tea Party decided to work to influence the GOP because the Democrat party was a lost cause and a third party option was too difficult.

Now, the GOP is once again calling the shots and the Tea Party going along simply because they don’t want to lose?

Who’s influencing who now?

“Time to write Freedomworks off the conservative list.”

I’ve seen so many people and organizations written off here lately, that soon all that will be left is FR.

Agree. Better Romney than Obama any day of the week. Four more years of Obama and with major lifetime Supreme Court appointments and the rest of the federal judicairy, we are cooked if Obama is re-elected. The old adage is true, never cut off your nose to spite your face.

Ditto.

Already seeing the antiSantorum ads here in Wisconsin. I would have voted for Perry, now Newt, but never Romney. I know there are those that call me a cry baby or whatever. I refuse to support Obama and, all Romney is is Obama lite.

I left FreedomWorks behind right after Glenn Beck went off the deep end. I didn’t want to be associated with anything to do with him.

I’m glad I made the right choice.

Dick Armey is the Tea Party founder?!?!

I don't think so.

The Tea Party ain't a party. It sprung up spontaneously all over the country, composed of people frightened about what their country was becoming.

It had nothing to do with that fat old goat.

I’m Anti-Romney so as I’ve seen politicans and some in the tea party support him, I have said the tea party was corrupt and the GOP took it over (what is the word I am looking for?). But all I care about is the tea party types and similar like minded conservatievs in the base. Because they will band together against Romney. My state went for Santorum as did others. They will stand against Romney.
