Can someone explain to me exactly what this means(In simple terms) people are going nuts on twitter over this, saying that Obama is implementing martial law(And next Sharia Law) and that people should start stock piling weapons..I knew one day Obama would make some law making him President for life, he doesn’t want elections to take place because he knows that he would lose. The media would love having that POS for life

It has the potential for being far, far worse that it looks.

Prepare yourself. We haven’t much time.

Hope you find the website of interest. Dates from the clinton era. The author is John A. Sterling

From http://www.lawandliberty.org/above.htm

Synopsis: The author explores the history and development of presidential Executive Orders from the first instance of their use in American Law to the present expansive use by President William Jefferson Clinton.

In Part One, the author looks at the history of Presidential Executive Orders and compares the present applications with the principle of “checks and balances” which the framers of the Constitution considered the cornerstone of American Federalism.

Part Two analyzes the Executive Orders of Presidents from Kennedy to Clinton, with special emphasis on the recent Executive Orders issued by Bill Clinton. The reader will be able, upon completion of both parts, to ascertain whether the Excecutive Branch has been faithful to the limitations of his legitimate authority, in light of the principles established in Part One.

From http://www.lawandliberty.org/above.htm

But what if the Federal Government, under the guise of national emergency and with nothing but the pseudo-authority of Executive Orders, were to attempt to circumvent the Constitution? Who could imagine such a preposterous thing?

Well, the likes of Patrick Henry, to name one, and other anti-Federalists of the day who raised the specter of such an event.

Madison was incredulous at this paranoid assertion and responded to such a “hypothetical” situation by writing, “But ambitious encroachments of the federal government on the authority of the state governments would not excite the opposition of a single state, or of a few States only. They would be signals of general alarm. Every government would espouse the common cause. . . Plans of resistance would be concerted.”

Madison obviously thought the idea of a runaway federal government was ludicrous! Besides, he reasoned, the state militias are armed and ready to fight such an obvious act of tyranny.

Not just one or two States, but ALL of them would certainly rise up with force of arms and resist! He rebuffed his detractors by saying, “[t]hat the governments and the people of the States should silently and patiently behold the gathering storm and continue to supply the materials until it should be prepared to burst on their own heads must appear to everyone more like the incoherent dreams of a delirious jealousy. . .than the sober apprehensions of genuine patriotism.”

Simply put...

This EO is a replacing of an almost similar EO issued by Clinton in 1994. Obama’s version places all “emergency” management under Homeland Security, instead of Fema. Also, Obama’s EO changes the reporting and authority structure. And putting this under Homeland security adds a military component that Fema didn’t have as strongly. Interesting to note, Bush never made null Clinton’s EO. As far reaching as it was, Bush kept it available to himself for his 8 years in office. Obama’s is more far reaching simply because of the structure of Homeland Security. Some say this is business as usual, others find it odd given the timing of the issuing of the order.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much. Really appreciate you letting me know this. So Clinton did the same thing, but it is VERY strange that all of a sudden Obama would do this now..makes me think he has something up his sleeve, maybe trying to prevent future elections from taking place, or something else..with Obama anything is possible. Always knew he was a dictator, a marxist dictator

I know it is time consuming, but take some time to follow the links up thread. You will get a fuller picture and it will help you determine how you feel about this. The best thing we can do for ourselves it to remain informed.

I saw this on Twitter tonight:

I believe you are correct. The trend actually extends back to either Nixon or Eisenhower. I researched it back in 2002 and it extended back to the older “Civil Defense” system of bomb shelters.

It appeared to me that it was a mechanism for each Administration to basically ‘clean house’ of previous Administration bureaucratic institutions left in place and functioning without full cognizance of the next Administration.

Back then, it probably wouldn’t have been feasible for such a large CT to be successful. The longer they linger on the books and the more accustomed the system accepts their existence, thinking they are innocuous, the greater the risk of somebody like Obama plotting to use them for nefarious ends.

Re: the ‘coffin’ boxes, they appear to be burial liners used in cemetaries to help distribute a load, and might be easily explained as a common manufacturer of plastic containers contracted by the industry in mortuary services. They don’t appear to seal from water leakage, so they wouldn’t make very good coffins.

IMHO, the more obvious risk here is becoming to complacent with these types of EOs. Congress needs to enforce their checks and balances on this dictatorial President.
