Janitor blast kills grocery store punk (shotguns burglar in NYC, no charges)
NY Post ^ | March 14, 2012 | GEORGETT ROBERTS, LARRY CELONA and BOB FREDERICKS

Meet the bravest custodian in Queens.

Supermarket janitor Angel Candido grabbed a shotgun early yesterday and fatally blasted a burglar who tried to clean out the store in the middle of the night, cops said.

Candido, who was working an overnight shift at the Met market at Jamaica Avenue and 173rd Street, was taking an authorized catnap in a crawl space below the store’s office when he suddenly awoke up at 2 a.m. to see two men drop from the ceiling.

He watched silently as the burglars, who had cut a hole in the roof, made their way to the office safe.

Then the hardworking employee grabbed hold of the weapon — which he keeps with him when he sleeps — and fired a single blast.

Mamadou Koureichi, 27, of 88-09 148th St., was pronounced dead at the scene with a wound to the torso.

His unidentified accomplice fled, leaving the burglary tools behind.

Candido is a 54-year-old churchgoing family man who works a grueling 11-hour shift as a combination cleaning man, shelf stocker and watchman.

He said he did what he had to do and took no pleasure in killing a man.

Cops at the 103rd Precinct questioned the soft-spoken shooter, but Queens District Attorney Richard Brown declined to prosecute since Candido is considered a victim in the case.

The weapon is registered to the store’s owner...

He cleans the store, restocks the shelves, then naps in a crawl space below the office with his shotgun, waiting to blow away burglars.

Best. Employee. Ever.

I think I could spring for a designated parking space and a little sign for 'Best Employee with a Shotgun". ;) Might give the next would-be burglars pause.

Good for him. Wish I could find a job with authorized catnaps.

Registered? Have to register shotguns in NYC?

Anyway, I strongly suspect this guy knows the difference between 00 and birdshot!

Ever notice how many times one burglar/home invader gets shot and killed, and his accomplice gets away?

"His unidentified accomplice fled, leaving the burglary tools behind."

Easy to find him; just follow the urine and fecal trail he left.....

Something tells me this store has been burglarized before.

ALL long rifles, shotguns and hand guns must be registered in NYC.

I salute his resolve and his willingness to protect his job. His actions were admirable in the real world.

However, as to no charges being filed; fortunately for him, he possessed the proper surname. Did anyone check to see if he was an undocumented democrat? What ever happened to the libtard obligation to retreat to the wall when threatened? I doubt Joe Wasp would have fared as well in NYC had he done a burglarectomy.

I am amazed at your attack on this man. Did you yourself check to see if he is an illegal alien? Is there really any reason to believe that he is?

>> Did anyone check to see if he was an undocumented democrat?

Not everyone with a Hispanic-sounding last name is an illegal alien.

>> I doubt Joe Wasp would have fared as well in NYC had he done a burglarectomy.

That’s hypothetically true, but why can’t we just leave it alone for a few minutes and enjoy this real-time justice?

A shotgun blast in the dark of night, their partner in crime death scream, such has been known to motivate surving perps to flee rather quickly.

I think the owner needs to spring for more than a single-shot shotgun. One got away. /semi-sarc

Let’s not leave out that I did salute this gentleman for his resolute protection of his boss’ property. I have no quarrel with the man or with his heritage.

So before you get offended: Not everyone with an “Anglo” sounding name is a legal resident. I am a bit suspicious here in that we didn’t get the obligatory Vigilante outcry from the libtards.

However, because the left never leaves it alone. They insist on placing everyone in groups and run their system that way, we need to be sure that decisions are made for the right reasons not the “preferential” ones.

[Good shooting citizen.]

A citizen of what country? I might cut him slack if he wasn’t an American citizen.
