October Pride - Home Depot expands support for gay marriage

Atlanta Pride gets company backing to push homosexual agenda in public

September 12, 2011

Home Depot is showing it wants to advance same-sex marriage in America. The company is planning to set up a booth at the October 8-9 Gay Pride Festival in Atlanta. The event includes a “Commitment Ceremony” in which two gays get “married.”

This picture was taken at the Atlanta gay “marriage” ceremony last year. Home Depot paid for printing thousands of brochures promoting it. Video of last year’s ceremony sponsored by Home Depot here.

Home Depot is also sponsoring the Atlanta pride parade and plans to march alongside groups like Dykes on Bikes, Queer Femme Revolution and Human Rights Campaign.

Over one-half million people have signed the pledge to boycott Home Depot until it agrees to remain neutral in the culture and political war over homosexual marriage.

To help promote the boycott, AFA has produced the AFA Pass Along Sheet. Please print copies of this sheet and share them with your neighbors, friends and co-workers. Encourage them to join the boycott of The Home Depot.

TAKE ACTION

1. Pray for Home Depot Chairman Frank Blake to make wise decisions regarding his company’s direction.2. If you have not done so, sign the Boycott Pledge at www.BoycottTheHomeDepot.com.
3. Call your local Home Depot store and ask to speak to the manager. You can find the number to your local store here (click “Store Finder” at top of page) or in your local phone book.
4. Print the paper petition and distribute it at Sunday school and church.

At OPM, the Benefits Policy Is Berry Disturbing

Homosexuals may not want the government to interfere with their sex lives, but they have no problem asking taxpayers to subsidize them. Under this administration, the President’s plan for getting the economy back on track is spending millions on benefits that violate federal marriage law. According to John Berry, the first openly gay director of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), his office is close to finalizing a long list of perks for the same-sex partners of federal workers. Under the regulations, significant others would qualify for child care subsidies, insurance and retirement benefits, evacuation pay for overseas work, survivor annuities, eligibility for non-competitive federal jobs, and the employee assistance program. Although couples don’t have to be in a legal union to qualify, OPM refuses to give straight workers the same benefits. Only gays and lesbians are eligible for these incentives, making it one of the more discriminatory policies in the federal workforce.

In the meantime, how does John Berry propose that we verify these relationships? If the government isn’t relying on marriage law to distinguish who is and isn’t a legal partner, how can it stop a single person from cheating the system and claiming their cousin as a same-sex partner? Back in 2009, when President Obama first revealed this agenda, he said, “Extending equal benefits to the same-sex partners of federal employees is the right thing to do. It is also sound economic policy.”

That’s interesting since even the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force had to cut its domestic partner program in half in 2003 because it was “prohibitively expensive.” Imagine the costs for a workforce of 1.9 million! According to estimates, the price tag for these benefits would be upwards of $630 million in the next decade, which is more than a drop in the deficit bucket. But in the end, it’s not about benefits or dollars—it’s about undermining the definition of man-woman marriage. Forcing the issue only feeds the Left’s argument that the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) needs to be overturned.

And the courts are doing their part to make it happen. Yesterday, a San Francisco judge struck down the part of DOMA that stops the government from offering benefits to same-sex spouses. When the suit was originally argued, the Justice Department was still fighting to uphold DOMA. Now, the White House is not only refusing to defend the law, its attorney is arguing on the plaintiff’s behalf! Fox News reports that “[The head of the Justice Department’s civil division] Tony West, joined lawyers from the gay rights legal group Lambda Legal in arguing on Golinski’s behalf, leaving the job of defending DOMA to a lawyer hired by a House of Representatives group.” I’m sure taxpayers will be thrilled to know that we’re not only footing the bill for Congress to argue for DOMA, we’re also paying for the President’s team to attack it!

...lascivious displays of sexual conduct by homosexuals and cross-dressers.

Witnessed at the annual Gay Pride parade in San Diego, a gay man in chaps....but without the Levis or underwear.

Yep, seriously, just mousse your hair into a mohawk, make sure the length is boyishly short, maybe sport a few visible tatoos, and tell them you’re a female. I bet it would work.

I only buy from Menards. A solid Wisconsin company that supports American manufacturers - about 4 times a year they run a sale on Made in USA merchandise and put the state of origin on every single product in their flyer. No Chinese crap, no Mexican crap, no nuttin.

And they sponsor a NASCAR car - Paul Menard.

Piss on the Homo Depot. Their stores are a dump anyway and their people are snotty.

They might as well.

Home Depot has already made themselves illegal alien sanctuaries and the reason I have not gone to one in 20 years.

Home Depot sucks. Lowes has far better stuff and a better selection. Better yet is that I still have good old fashion building supply houses around me which I go to for big projects. They will still deliver lumber and supplies to my house or rentals I am working on. You can only fit so much in the back of a full size wagon.

The only reason I hit Home Depot anymore is because they have a great Cheese Steak shop incorporated in the front of the building and it makes a working lunch easier.

Here in Hollywood, there’s a Home Depot chock-full of ILLEGALS in the parking lot while across it, is OSH..with no illegals whatsoever.

Guess which store you would go for hardware needs and not get the dirty look when you go back to your car?

Considering that I am 65, with little hair and my skin is too thin (age related) to accept a tat, I guess I will just have to lisp.

I have rather biased opinions about home improvement centers since in my early 20’s I worked in lumber and then managed a PH&E department in a Wickes Store in NW Ohio (thereby earned the money to head out west to grad school). Can’t stand Home Depot and haven’t shopped there in years, but it has nothing to do with their politics. I shop at Loews when I need big store selection and pricing. They aren’t as good (or fun to browse in) as a top notch hardware store or an old fashioned hardwood mill, but at least the ones local to me have helpful and well informed staff. The staff and service at Home Depot suck (ironic, eh?).

The nearest Home Depot and Lowes are about 50 miles from here (and less then 1/2 mile from each other.) It’s an easy choice.
