There would be no consideration of cost effectiveness. That was the explicit condition that the Department of Health and Human Services imposed on the panel of health-care experts it commissioned to develop the “preventive services” mandate that will require virtually all health-insurance plans in the United States to cover sterilizations and contraceptives—including those that cause abortions. Ruh-roh, the lone dissenter, Prof. Anthony Lo Sasso, will be thrown off the 16 member panel if he doesn’t learn to go with the flow.

He paints a picture of 16 people who didn’t use evidence, who were told they couldn’t use cost effectiveness of any approved coverage, to come up with this “contraception” coverage. 16 people are deciding what every insurance plan must cover, what will be considered “preventative”.

16 people rule the health care coverage industry.
