"The Obama Administration has attacked ideals, principles, and protections for which Americans have fought and died for. Therefore, the reaction is not only in the press, in the courts, and in the Congress. It is, should be, and will be in the streets. Civil disobedience must be a part of the response."
Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, adds;
"The faith community can never be silent or indifferent when it comes to matters of justice, human rights and religious liberty. We want to make it clear to President Obama and all public officials that we would rather spend time in a dark prison cell than be coerced into complying with an immoral and unjust government mandate.
"We will be peaceful. We will be humble. We will be prayerful. But, we will stand!"
So you can get arrested for praying in DC now?
Please keep turning the other cheek while we prepare for war.
I detest this kind of assembly. It accomplishes nothing, and is done so frequently by leftists who know full well that they will be arrested then released in an hour with no penalty, that it is little more than an exercise in cynicism.
It is not a form of protest to be used when you are part of a very powerful political bloc, you have substantial political backing, your membership fired up, etc.
Good heavens, is this a powerful bloc. Catholic, Orthodox, Evangelical. The amount of political pressure they can directly bring to bear is staggering.
So start doing a headcount of congress right now, and after the next election when there will almost certainly be a Republican senate.
There should be a very strict bill that doesn’t just kill this dead, but puts nails in its coffin, and lets the judiciary know that they had better not even think about supporting this crap, or worse, legislating it from the bench themselves.
Dare I say it, “Put the fear of God in these people.”
