Palin on Romney: "we need someone who can instinctively turn right..it's too late to teach that..."

Dana Bash's tweet is now being re-tweeted many times over, and Palin's "dig" at Romney will, I predict, become the subject of news articles and be the chief political take-away from her CPAC speech. There's no way she's talking about anyone but Mitt Romney.

Here's the full tweet, and later we'll get a transcript of Palin full speech:

Palin dig at Romney: "we need someone who can instinctively turn right..it's too late to teach that or spin...it must be there"

Sarah may be correct, but look at who she endorsed in Arizona and ran with for President. Not exactly the shining example of right-minded thinking either.

She didn’t single Romney out in her speech. But I’m sure she would say, “If the shoe fits...”

Running with McCain got her in the national spotlight. Endorsing him was payback for the VP nod.

Now come on, I dislike McCain more than I dislike Mitt, but I understand why she did that. It was tepid and polite and she didn’t do any campaigning for him.

There is a business etiquette side of politics, just like every other business.

I’d take McCain over Obama, just as I’d take Mitt over Obama. Endorsing McCain in the AZ primary is another matter, though.

Please get over that. Sarah's conservative bona fides are beyond reproach.

If her CPAC speech didn't stir your heart, and fill your soul with a bursting love for your country, then I am saddened for you.

“Palin: “we need someone who can instinctively turn right..it’s too late to teach that...”

The dilema is that neither of the three current front runners have demonstrated that instinct.

it was clear she was talkin’ about romney.

Yeah, there were moments as she waxed eloquent about the Constitution, I thought she might even endorse Ron Paul.

Haven’t seen it yet, but I will.

I’m a fan of SP, sent her PAC plenty of money, and even drove three hours to see The Undefeated.

And I completely understand her reasons for endorsing McInsane...but let’s not ignore the obvious. McInsane wasn’t the best, most conservative candidate for the Senate.

Mittens came to mind as soon as she said it.

"Endorsing McCain in the AZ primary is another matter, though."

Your point is pointless. Even Ronald Maximus would have endorsed McCain in that primary.

I just watched it live, and all I can say is that it made a grown man cry.

Hey I’m the guy who posted Palin’s tweet in the first place, remember? I’m a big Palin fan, and the McCain v. Heyworth primary battle isn’t important to me. Just didn’t feel like getting into it.

Not Palin’s tweet, a reporter’s tweet on Palin’s anti-Romney dig. Glad I cleared that up.

Sarah Palin knows exactly how to say what she means, and she is not afraid to speak clearly. She also has said she is allowed to endorse people in her job, so there is nothing stopping her from identifying a specific candidate if she thinks one person should be our nominee, or that a criticism is meant for only one candidate.

Earlier in the day, she specifically mentioned Romney in an interview, where she attacked him for not coming across as a conservative.

An excellent speech, and you can tell it’s from the heart, not an assortment of platitudes from a playbook.

What about payback do you not understand? This guy had put her on his ticket, given her some time in the sun for us to get to know her. What a slap it would’ve been to not endorse him. I’m sure she was somewhat conflicted, but that’s the way it is.
