What, does he figure he has a Kennedy-like entitlement to the position because he was wounded?
To: crosshairs
The guy could be the anti-Christ and will win. Getting shot when you are a democrat guarantees a win.

The Sympathy Vote.
Yeah, that’ll work.

Oh, it will work.
Liberals base everything they do on their feelings.
And the will guilt-trip their friends and relatives.
Does not matter if the guy is a collectivist-statist abortion-murder fanatic.

And did ya notice this....
My commitment is to be honest with the people of this district and help restore civility to our public life.
They are still trying to play the Blame Sarah Palin game.

Cool. He can ghoulishly exploit the rest of the wounded and the dead to get himself elected to a position for which he would otherwise not be considered qualified.
No sense in letting a crisis go to waste...

They couldn’t talk Giffords’ husband into running.

Which is why generations of Kennedys get elected to office, because two previous Kennedys were shot. Still getting the sympathy vote 50 years later.

Poor Giffords. She really should stay on in Congress. Since the shooting and the resulting brain damage...
she is more qualified than ever before.

No he is going to have to fight for the position just like everyone else. I don't know who is going to run against him but somebody will and the one who wins will have to have the most votes. This is not like the Governor picking somebody. He will have to campaign to win the election. I don't know the guy at all but he is not going to have an easy road. I don't think anyone does now adays with your entire past dissected.

My initial skepticism wanted to say doubtful on both counts right out of the box.

Because that judge was a Republican.
To: crosshairs
He expects to be handed the seat because he was wounded. I hope he’s handily defeated by a Conservative.
