This entire fiasco is putting the lie to these foundations.

We were told that we need a cure for breast cancer. And we were told that one of the main reasons we were not finding a cure is that researchers do not have enough money. We are told to contribute, to obtain sponsors to pay us when we run marathons, all to donate money to find a cure.

Now we find out that Komen has so much money they can afford to give it out to BIG-BUSINESSES that have absolutely nothing to do with finding a cure.

Either Komen is mis-managing their money, or their true intent is not to find a cure, or they have more money than they really know how to spend.

And why did Komen not come out directly and say, “There is evidence of a link between abortion and breast cancer. Because of that, we cannot ask for money for breast-cancer research and fund a BIG BUSINESS that provides abortions, which may well be leading to breast cancer.”

Komen is going to hold a big fundraising marathon in the Dallas area.. good time for billboards, protesters on that route IMO.

A Planned Parenthood rep said today that they were angry that Komen caved to "political bullies" when they halted funding to them. What we are seeing is that Planned Parenthood, the Liberal elites, NOW, Democrats and "Progressives" are really the ones who are doing the bullying. Komen withdrew funding from PP partly, maybe mainly, because not even one of their sites actually performs mammograms. All they do is refer, so Komen decided the money was better spent with organizations that directly helped women to fight breast cancer.

What you will not ever see come to light in the media and perhaps has not been made known much is that abortion may have a direct connection to actually causing breast cancer. Now, because of all the bully tactics of the anti-life brigade, Komen, which was started to help women prevent and treat breast cancer, is now being forced into paying an organization that not only promotes and performs a majority of the abortions in this country, but is contributing to one of the causes of breast cancer!

Abortion issue aside, it was my understanding that the SGKF was giving the $$ to PP in the form of a grant, i.e., voluntarily.

What I don't get is, who the hell is PP (and their supporters) to demand that another organization continue to give them $$?!

Although, in these current Obama-times where the entitlement mentality is so rampant, I shouldn't be so surprised.

With a shakedown like this, I wonder if Jesse Jackson was involved? /sarc

Komen should force PPs hand by publicly insisting that they provide mammograms. Komen is a breast cancer organization, and they should insist on that. I think that most people are unaware that Planned NO-Parenthood does NO mammograms, and it would put them on the defensive.

They can kill babies in-house, but they can’t do mammograms. Why not?
