Remember what I said in the minimum-wage thread about conservatives gradually being forced to play ideological Twister to defend Romney if he’s the nominee? Here’s Exhibit AAA1.
I don’t understand. I don’t understand why, if you support one of these candidates, it can’t simply be because they’re the best of a bad lot. This happens endlessly in the comments here as Romney fans and Gingrich fans insult each other into digging in ever deeper behind their guy, but I can’t fathom why that mindset would affect Coulter. She has a million arguments for Romney over Gingrich or Santorum if she wants them: He’s a better fundraiser and organizer, he polls better against Obama head to head, he’s good enough at debates to have thwarted Newt twice in Florida, he’s got private sector experience, etc. There’s simply no need to cheer him on for the least conservative thing he ever did in public life. Either she’s so sick of people dumping on her for backing Mitt that she decided to write this as a rhetorical middle finger to her critics or she’s curious to see just how strong her persuasive powers over the right are. If she can turn them around on RomneyCare, she can turn them around on anything.

The left of the GOP smells victory once and for all, over the right.
Before they were mostly driven off, the Romney people here truly worshiped him, adored him, they really see saw him as their version of Reagan and Palin, and Washington rolled into one, they see him as the guy that can make it all right, the guy who fixes things, who can get it done.
I don’t know why they see that when we see abject failure (34% approval leaving office?), and radical liberalism, but Coulter seems to be one of his true devotees.
I think it is because they see him as the effective killer of social conservatism, the burden of conservative Christians that the moderate Republicans cannot seem to rid themselves of.
The democrats try to destroy us, the GOP tries to destroy us, but Mitt had great success in Massachusetts, winning the great social liberal victories of his day against us.
Nice pic, but I think “ELITIST” would be a more fitting caption. Like many of those she pals around with, they worship and adore the power that comes from being in the know, having the right connections, and being considered smarter than the rest of us. That’s what leads them to do stupid outrageous stuff like this.

You’re right about Maher but we continued to think that she was actually a Conservative.. We are to blame for that!
We continued to hang on when she recommended Chris Christie and now we hang on for Romney. Can we finally get a grip?

I’m going steady with the bigger, more fundamental idea of HARD term limits, AKA “No Careers in Politics”.
Serve, and then return to the private sector.
This would clean up SO much that is wrong with our current corruption incubating “system”

Colter is just another media/Romney tag-along. She would do anything, and say anything to get her mug on TV. First, it had to be Christy…she even told us if we elected Romney, he would just loose. Now, after Christy said no...she decided to back the next-best looser Romney. Look at all the losers backing this guy. Dole, McLame, etc.
I took great delight answering one of her Emails the other night. I posted it here, and it was immediately pulled for the use of “media $$ore” to explain Coulter. She is what she is! Now, do you think if Gingrich wins the nomination she will be on board? She does insist that she is a true [c]onservative after all! NOT!!! Just another RINO supporting the “next-in-line” RINO!
Does it sound like I am bitter? NO! I am just sick to death of the elites in this party, as well as the media making the decision that WE THE PEOPLE do not have the intelligence to make the right choice for a nominee. What the Romney campaign did to carpet-bomb Mr. Newt may be fair-play in some political playbooks, but not mine.
Mr. Newt is not perfect, who is? He like many in our party, made mistakes, but he at least admits his mistakes. Show me one politician that has accomplished what Mr. Newt has accomplished for the Conservative movement. I will vote for him/her. I will otherwise vote for the most Conservative who can fight like a pit bull. EAGLES UP MR. NEWT!
