Soros: Not Much Difference Between Romney and Obama
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | January 27, 2012 | Rush Limbaugh

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: There's also a piece here, RawStory.com. It's one of those blogs out there, and I'm gonna tell you what it says. I don't know if it's true. I don't know who Raw Story is.

"Billionaire investor and philanthropist George Soros told Reuters Global Editor-at-Large Chrystia Freeland that he still supported President Barack Obama, but predicted voters would not be very enthusiastic about the 2012 elections if former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was nominated by Republicans. 'Well, look, either you’ll have an extremist conservative, be it Gingrich or Santorum, in which case I think it will make a big difference which of the two comes in,' he said. 'If it’s between Obama and Romney, there isn’t all that much difference except for the crowd that they bring with them.'" And maybe better food. Probably better food on the Romney side.

Soros "acknowledged that a major difference between Romney and Obama would be their Supreme Court nominations," but other than that, there's no difference in these two guys other than the people they hang out with. George Soros. Now, why would Soros, if he did, why would he say this? (interruption) Yeah, yeah, well, what's the psychological game that he's playing? He's endorsing Romney. "Romney, that's cool, no difference, I could go either way that way." Now, Soros knows that he's hated by the Republican base. So if he's playing psychology, he's trying to "shtup" Romney, if you will.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: George Soros did say it. This is Wednesday on Reuters' website, Reuters.com. The Freeland File, digital editor Chrystia Freeland interviewing George Soros. This was in Davos.

SOROS: If it’s between Obama and Romney, there isn't all that much difference, except for the crowd that they bring with them. Romney would have to take Gingrich or Santorum as a Vice President and you probably have some pretty extreme candidates for the Supreme Court. So that's the down side. On the other side, uh, the Obama administration is a bit exhausted, so it's not all that strong. So it won't be that great a difference and I think there won't be a great deal of enthusiasm on either side of the battleground. It will be more civilized than the previous elections have been.

RUSH: That's George Soros who thinks if it's Romney, it's gonna be a boring election. Nobody's gonna be enthused on either side. The Obama side's exhausted, tired, worn out. His supporters down in the dumps. Nothing's happening like it was supposed to. Romney doesn't excite the Republicans. (impression) "Eh, it'll be pretty civilized. Der won't bee a great deal of enthuz'asm." Does this guy sound like a Bond villain or what? But he said it here. "If it's between Obama and Romney, there isn't all z'at much difference except for zee crowd that they bring vit them." George Soros. Who, by the way, has a big stake in this stuff as we all know.

Government rules and regulations make some people very very 'rich'.... the 'gop' notwithstanding.

In the culture of impunity of Washington, politics stops at corruption's edge. Almost all major corruption is either bipartisan or common enough that one side can effectively blackmail the other.

Reverse, reverse psychology. Endorse Romney, because the GOP Establishment will think you’re doing it to scare Republican voters into supporting Gingrich. The Establishment will read this as Soros really being more afraid of Romney, and will redouble their efforts to stop Gingrich. If anyone in the GOP is listening to anything than any Democrat has to say about the GOP primary, they have already lost the battle.

a woman called into Rushs show today and said she wanted to ask the GOP candidaters

would you be willing to die for our country >>>

the answer from Romney would be

NO

You see he had a chance to lay his life on the line for America yeares ago but he refused to..

He dodged the draft TWICE during Nam...

Thats not a guy who would die for our country..

so NO

Both Obama and Romney hate Amertica about the same...
which hates us worse ???

Well at least Obamas has never been drafted so he has never refused to go and fight to defend us...

Disclaimer: this is not a defense of Obama. This is just a few facts on Williard Romney.

I still have no idea why Coulter, Beck, et al are all pushing for Romney. Especially Beck, who has done SO MUCH research on Soros and progressives. Yet, every day, there’s Beck...bashing Newt, making fun of Newt, playing clips of Newt and not ONE WORD about Romney, other than to push how GREAT he’d be and how HE is the ONLY one who can beat Obama.

While I’m still wishing Santorum would pick up steam....Newt would be a HELL of a lot better than PROGRESSIVE Romney.

I’m starting to truly wonder if the conservative pundits (except Limbaugh and maybe Savage-who I don’t listen to) are actually shills, TRYING to get Obama another term.

George Soros, bankroller of Obama, says there is no difference between obama and Romney.

Because Beck is a Mormon, and that is the bottom line.

He could use Bachmann and Santorum to trot out his, “I want a real conservative...blahblahblah”, but make no mistake, he will support Romney wholeheartedly.

Yep...and it’s disgusting.

It goes against EVERYTHING the man has been “preaching” for the last 3 years, and now makes what he says now, pretty hard to believe in.

It’s hard to retain respect when someone “sells out” as Beck has here. ;(

I subscribe to GBTV and have always liked Beck. But lately with his constant Newt bashing he is turning me off. Also SC Cupp's little “Newt is a woman” diatribe last week and Beck laughing with her turned me the hell off. Don't think I will renew my subscription.

No kidding. I was telling my husband just a little bit ago that Beck is a total fraud. I cannot believe anything he says now. I almost wish I subscribed to GBTV just so I could cancel my subscription. As it stands, I will no longer listen to his program. He is now just a footnote to me.

If we feel this way, you know there must be many, many more. He has really stepped in it now.
