I really like the fact that Newt didn't pander or waffle or try to be 'politically correct'; his answer was blunt and direct (and correct).
Yes; this is old news. But, Newt handled it well. The Gay Community will not vote Republican anyhow; so screw them. Oops.... on second thought, I’ll pass on that.
Outstanding! Newt has been un-pc nowadays. Top 2 posters are correct: these homos will never vote GOP unless the GOP holds a leather spandex night.
Finally the correct answer for those in special interest groups wishing only to balkanize conservatives and have candidates gushingly give them politically correct answers.
Great stuff.
And yet who, besides Newt, would have had the quickness of wit and courage to give this reply?
Mitt would have panders, Ricky Santorum would mamble about his grandfather and Ron Paul would have whined...
To support homosexual “marriage” is unconstitutional. There are no “special rights” for sodomy. It should be illegal because of the disease and dysfunction of the activity and it is always EVIL.
Sodomy is EVIL. Republics are suppose to support VIRTUE!!!!! That is the intent of the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God. WE have a standard for Right and Wrong and it NEVER INCLUDED SODOMY.
Thanks for posting.
Newt handled that well.
No use sweating the gay stuff.
Gingrich should focus his energy on conservatives and the suicidal followers of Romney cult.
Hooray for Newt!
Gingrich did not imply that he wants for all gay voters to vote for Obama. His advice was specifically directed at the few hyperpolitical gay voters who regard gay marriage as the most important issue of the 2012 presidential election.
The title of this month-old piece is a lie as is its first sentence.
They were lies when this was posted repeatedly here on FR a month ago.
They are still lies today.
Like it. Thanks for posting.
I hadn’t seen it. Thanks for posting. Good answer by Newt. Vote for Obama. They are anyway, so no sense in pandering. We should remember this with all the disgruntled minority groups. Wonder what Mitt’s answer would have been?
I love it! Newt is expressing precisely and publicly what most conservatives think. I scream at my tv when issues like this come up, but no one can hear me. I think a person such as this gay voter, respects this type of response. It is clear, it is true and is not open for further debate.
Thanks for posting the video. When the story was first reported, all I heard was “Gingrich told a gay dude to vote for Obama”. I knew the reality was exactly what the video showed.
