If Romney wins South Carolina, millions of Americans are going to blame Rush personally for turning the momentum of the election to him, and for being responsible for the eventual re-election of The Marxist. I don't think a bigger blunder has ever been committed by an influential opinion leader in modern times. You've got that right. The man caught fire and blew up.
