A previous story incorrectly reported that Mitt Romney's former firm, Bain & Co., was part of a team of consulting companies that advised President Barack Obama on a decision to shutter car dealerships during the auto bailout.
Bain & Co. said it has no connection to the "Bain Consulting" firm referenced in government documents.

The “Establishment’s” “Cover-Up” starts...
Err, how is it a cover up?
CNBC reported a bogus story and is offering a correction. That’s all this is.
Bain & Co., Bain Capital, now Bain Consulting.
Not a bogus story just the wrong subsidiary.
No, that is not what CNBC's correction says at all.
They say Bain Consulting has no connection to Romney's former firm Bain & Co. Not a subsidiary at all, no connection period.
I think you are right.
Bain & Company certainly are related to Bain Capital. I was interviewed for a position there after college and part of their sales pitch was their relationship with Bain Capital.
Never even heard of an outfit called Bain Consulting.
I guess we'll soon see. It sure is one hell of a coincidence.
Google Bain Consulting.....
In 2000, SEC docs say:(o) Includes 527,129 shares held by Bain Capital Fund VI, L.P., whose sole general partner is Bain Capital Partners VI, L.P., whose sole general partner is Bain Capital Investors VI, Inc., a Delaware corporation wholly owned by W. Mitt Romney; 115,138 shares held by BCIP Associates II, a Delaware general partnership of which the managing general partner is Bain Capital, Inc., which is wholly owned by W. Mitt Romney; 16,645 shares held by BCIP Associates II-B, a Delaware general partnership of which the managing general partner is Bain Capital, Inc., which is wholly owned by W. Mitt Romney;
What I can't find is any record or reference of Romney selling anything. His defenders insist that he left Bain. He owned it. You don't just "leave" something that you "wholly" own.
I've never seen a reference to Bain Consulting.
Doug Bain started Bain Consulting LLC and is in Texas.
Odd isn't it? I"ll bet a steak dinner it is/was another off-shoot, like Bain Capital. Of little consequence which Bain it is, Mitt already likens his Bain history to Obama's GM success.
The odd thing is that Bain & Co. IS a consulting firm. They come up when you do a search on Bain Consulting.
Doesn’t mean that he’s not a relative.
I don’t know. Dougie appears to be from the pacific northwest. High school, college.
Billie born down south.
You may be right and there’s no familial connection.
The "correction" appears to be misleading.
There is a "Bain & Company", a "Bain Capital" and a "Bain Consulting Group". Mitt Romney has work for all three.

Hmmmm... “BCG” appears to be “Boston Consultant Group” and NOT Bane Conslutant Group....I guess??
