The GOP: The party of bailouts & cronyism. Destruction of Tea Party complete.

Posted on 01/10/2012 10:34:33 PM PST by Minus_The_Bear

The GOP has chosen. The destruction of the TEA Party is almost complete.

The Weekly Standard, National Review, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, & all the establishment Republicans have driven the TEA Party out of the picture.

Now we are told that taking Federal bailouts = capitalism & that anybody who disagrees should just shut up. Why did they TEA Party start in the first place?

Without ethics capitalism is doomed to corruption.

I expect every Romney voter would support Solyndra or GE... because "it's just capitalism"

Welcome to the United Soviet States of America..where the Pravda State Media “vet” the candidates to the pleasure and needs of the RinoCrat UniParty.

This “election” will be a non-election...featuring the state approved “candidates”-whose only distinction is whether they are black or white.

Hope Rush doesn’t see this or he’ll label you an ANTI-CAPTIALIST.

Rush and all the other “so called” conservative media have sold their souls to the idea of marxism. They now rail against conservatives and promote marxist like Mitt Romney.

Boy he sure fooled a lot a people for a long time, me included. His true colors have finally come out though. His wealth hasn’t just gone to his fat stomach, it gone to his fat head too.

I have always fought against a third party but the way the “so called “ conservative media is treating our conservative candidates, I think you may be right.

All of our “so called” conservatives friends in the media have sold out to the left. ALL of THEM.

Agreed...! Rush, fox, Hannity and others have played the conservatives and took their money. It’s now time to part with these media whores. They have shown that they aren’t conservatives but leftist who can easily be bought for the almighty dollar.

Principle means notheing to these people. American and it’s freedoms mean nothing to these people. LIARS and SCUMBAGS ALL OF THEM.

Why shouldn’t his numbers be up!.... he has the help of rush, hannity, fox, wall street, and the liberal media. What conservative can fight against the onslaught of lies and attacks coming from their “so called” media friends?

Conservative can NO LONGER all rush a friend, he has attacked them on a daily basis. rush has become the very thing he’s railed bout for yrs., a leftist. He has become an establishment leftist. His new buddies are now Rove and the Bushes.

Sadly a lot of folks are having to face what the Republican Party has been for the last 24 years.

Reagan was an anomaly. He wasn’t supposed to win, and the Republican establishment is firm in it’s resolve that another Reagan doesn’t emerge.

The Republican party is not our future. It will never be the conduit of The United States rescue.

The sooner we come to terms with that, the better.

Clapping LOUDLY!! Thread winner!

There is a lot of truth in your comment. The power of the Tea Party was not being aligned with any political party. The reasoning for that is you then have the power to make the politicians move your way because they can’t be certain they would get your votes unless they do. They would also be very worried the Tea Party might actually get out there and protest them if they slide left.

The worse thing to happen is that people in the GOP used the Tea Party mantle to get elected, and then went the opposite direction on too many issues.

When you get desperate and you try to pin “Tea Party” on people who have supported individual mandates, agree with global warming BS, declare the era of Reagan over, then go on to attack capitalism, you lose fellow supporters and steam.

The Tea Party is not a party like the Democrat or Republican Party so they do not behave in a way the Press or elites understand.

Often when I go through a small town or even medium sized city I see hand written signs out on the road pointing to a building and announcing “Tea Party Meeting 7pm Tuesday Night” and since the press and elites never venture past the Beltway they have no idea what is happening out here.

Like millions of Americans I realize that the only voice I have is my vote and like millions of Americans I will silently go to the polls in November and voice my opinion on what is going on in Washington. Going to Tea Party meetings only reassures me that I am not alone.

Jeeze why all the whiners? Don’t forget the TEA party stands for “Taxed Enough Already” and not “Take Everything Already”. We are fighting a well organized, entrenched and funded system. The Tea Party is new on the scene and both Democrats and Republicans wish we would just go away. I’ll bet the British thought the same thing when Washington with untrained troops, no money to pay or arm them was in Valley Forge. Did he go back to Virginia, no he keep fighting, trained his troops and sent Ben Franklin to raise money from the French. One or two elections will not win this war but perseverance will.

Look at what we have accomplished so far, even though the spending keeps up the debate is about how much to cut and where. Obamacare is a turning into just what we said it would be. The Democrats have had to manufacture their own Tea Party, the OWS crowd. Don’t think for a minute the Tea Party is dead, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

If the establishment Republicans and the media pick Mitt it might spell the end of the Republican Party, but I’ll not stay home. I won’t be voting for Mitt but against Obama. Don’t ever forget the Democrats and Republicans get rich off our backs and one or two elections will not cause them the throw up their hands and try to make an honest living. They will fight us every step of the way if we just give up they have won and the country is lost.

Your comment is very true. The GOP isn’t the GOP of Reagan years, and hasn’t been since then.

The unfortunate fact is that most of the GOP voters in America don’t understand and have paid very little attention to what the GOP is now.

They just go out at election time and pull the lever for the GOP.

That said, the same holds true for the Democrat Party. Many Democrats have always voted Democrat. They fail to notice that their Party has been taken over by flat out communists. I know a few dems that just don’t want to believe that because they can’t see, and don’t want to see, what their party has become.

“That was a tremendous speech! Very heartfelt and inspiring!”

Yes it was.

I think all Republicans need to take a hard look at the candidates. I’ll leave Ron Paul out of the mix as he’s obviously not going anywhere.

I don’t understand how anyone can see Plastic Mitt speak, and not think “used car salesman”. He’s smarmy, and seems patently disingenuous. The worst part is, his record backs that up to the nines. I can never trust him, or vote for him except as an absolute last resort - I’m not sure even then.

Newt Gingrich’s personal history is a window into his ethics and worldview. He is also not to be trusted, he’s betrayed those closest to him repeatedly. He may be smart and articulate, but he should not be trusted with the Presidency. At any rate, we don’t really need to worry, he’s not electable versus 0. Sorry, Gingrich fans.

Perry may be a fine man, but he’s shot himself in the foot and is done for 2012.

Santorum has some momentum, and right now is the only legitimate shot we have against McRomney. I suggest we rally around him.

You don't seem to get it.

If Mitt Romney gets the nomination that is the end of the TEA Party.

He will enact Obamacare with a Republican face. All the free market ideas are being attacked and consumed by big government corporatist ones.

Sounding the alarm is not "whining"... to many of you are listening to Rush Limbaugh.

I agree. To borrow another WWII expression - “they have awoken a sleeping giant”. As this year unfolds I expect that will become readily apparent.

You’re so welcome. Whenever I’m on a thread having anything to do with RuPaul, I try to send that article for us like-minded people to use as arguing points and to spread around. These RP fan-atics are doing SO much damage to the conservatives by staying in this as a spoiler.

On a lighter note for some comic relief, you may find this interesting - an article about Brit Hume mentioning RP with RuPaul and a link to something the REAL RuPaul’s putting out to let people know he’s NOT Ron Paul. Enjoy -
