The GOP: The party of bailouts & cronyism. Destruction of Tea Party complete.

Posted on 01/10/2012 10:34:33 PM PST by Minus_The_Bear

The GOP has chosen. The destruction of the TEA Party is almost complete.

The Weekly Standard, National Review, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, & all the establishment Republicans have driven the TEA Party out of the picture.

Now we are told that taking Federal bailouts = capitalism & that anybody who disagrees should just shut up. Why did they TEA Party start in the first place?

Without ethics capitalism is doomed to corruption.

I expect every Romney voter would support Solyndra or GE... because "it's just capitalism"

We will probably look back on this as Mitt’s last hurrah.

Leave it to a '98er to keep his head in the game and show some common sense. :)

I totally dis-agree w Rush’s analysis. And believe me, I’ve listened to him for 20 yrs, and rarely disagreed w his analysis.
He said this is personal between Gingrich and Romney after Iowa. BS. Rush is scared. Rush is selling out. Never thought I’d say that but that is what I believe.
Rush is like family and he’s not himself. Not good for us. People may think I’m crazy but I’ve never seen Rush so wrong. Something is up.

“What are WE going to do about it, besides complain on message boards.”

A valid question. Personally I just volunteered for the Gingrich campaign.

Funny as a proud supporter of TEA Party I don’t feel in the least destroyed. Just more determined.

I think you may have that right. At the very least they will fracture the party and the wimpy-limp-wristed-RINOS will go their own way into the ash heap of history.

Since I found FR I’ve realized that a lot of his news and even “insight” has come from Freepers, no doubt. But I will say the man has some rare insight. His day’s are numbered, though, at least w me.

By the time it gets to Florida Romney could have it wrapped up.

I keep reading this, but no one can tell me how. Can YOU tell me how? Maybe someone can go here and do the math for the rest of us. http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/primaries/delegates

If you had a Ron Paul sans the virulent isolationist rhetoric, they’d do decisively well with conservatives IMO. You don’t see a lot of argument here from FReepers against Ron Paul’s domestic policies.

Are you out of your mind? Abortion okay in states? Fags in the military? Fag marriage? All drugs legalized?

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I’ve listened to Rush at least as long as you have. I heard the callers go after him, and rightfully so. However, he did say that it was understandable and expected that Newt would go after Romney.

Do you really believe that Rush is scared? Selling out?

I don’t.

Frankly, I think the arguments Newt has used against Romney have backfired. As evidence of that, Romney’s polling numbers are up in FL and SC.

Fr is usually first, Rush's miscue with the lord's army showed that his underlings didn't follow through on the thread imo. :) He is good, that is why he is successful, but FR is infinitely better for facts and opinions IMO. I fear he may be a victim of his own success. Believing the showmanship, etc. His worst day is still better than npr’s best however.

I expected Romnay to do well there, but this Huntsman thing has me baffled. What the hell?

Drudge is in the tank, also? If they want their careers to survive, they fold. Patriotism is replaced by cya.

You’ve got people voting who don’t give politics a second thought for over 1450 days every four years. They’re politically infantile.

Ron Paul doesn’t give a fig about this nation. He cares about Ron Paul and that’s about it.

His defense of Romnay sure outs him for what he is.

Was i the only one who heard the part where Rush said “in the interest of self-disclosure” that Bain was the one who bought Clear Channel?

Sadly a lot of folks are having to face what the Republican Party has been for the last 24 years.

Reagan was an anomaly. He wasn’t supposed to win, and the Republican establishment is firm in it’s resolve that another Reagan doesn’t emerge.

The Republican party is not our future. It will never be the conduit of The United States rescue.

The sooner we come to terms with that, the better.

I agree - we need to be one force behind Newt - something they don’t want. This is it, there won’t be a next time. I keep thinking what if we didn’t even have Newt! We should be thankful he wants to go through this - he doesn’t need to - he could be a wimp like so many ‘so called conservatives’ have and bow out and would get a good position in mitt’s admin. And I’m sure he’s already been asked. He knows the powers that be but; hopefully, WeThePeople will stick together and get America back into our hands.
