Shocker: Mitt Romney Winning Tea Party Vote in New Hampshire
Sunshine State News ^ | December 19th | Kenric Ward

Posted on 12/23/2011 5:20:13 AM PST by Halfmanhalfamazing

Mitt Romney broke through the tea party barrier Monday, winning that segment's vote in a New Hampshire poll.

Romney beat Ron Paul among tea partiers, 29 percent to 21 percent, the Public Policy Polling survey reported. It was the first time Romney has carried a plurality of tea party voters, with whom the former Massachusetts governor has had chilly relations.

And in a possible leading indicator heading to Florida, Romney garnered 50 percent of the senior vote in the New Hampshire poll conducted by the Democratic-leaning PPP.

Overall, Romney was the choice of 35 percent of PPP respondents. Paul garnered 19 percent; Newt Gingrich, 13 percent; Jon Huntsman, 5 percent; Michele Bachmann, 3 percent; Rick Santorum, 2 percent; and Rick Perry and Gary Johnson, 1 percent.

Allen West voted yes for the Military internment of American citizens bill...so did Rubio and Demint.
He really dissapointed me on that and was on Beck defending it.

I wonder if I can trust any of them.

Sorry but the tea party has collapsed and gone into a full retreat. The fact that Newt Romney even registers with Tea Party voters should be all the evidence needed.

One of the comments on the site of the article says it better and more accurately: "These establishment shills pretending to be Tea Party Candidates are insulting to our intelligence."

>>The way the Tea Party betrayed Herman Cain, they don’t deserve to be taken seriously anymore.

I am pretty sure Herman Cain betrayed Herman Cain.

New Hampshire is an odd little state and PPP is an odd little polling outfit. I would not put too much stock into this poll or what goes on in this state.

the MSM along with Soros groups did the digging that found that Cain had feet of clay....

....and Cain should have done some self vetting....

Republicans are suppose to be the party of family values and any departure often sounds the death knell for a Republican candidate..

The Tea Party Movement has been co-opted by the powers that be.

I agree, which is why republicans using the moral failures of democrats as an excuse for their own bad behavior, never works. By and large democrats don’t run on the ‘family values’ platform, and the one thing the american people seem to hate more than screwing around on your spouse, is being a hypocrite.

IMO, NH no longer is any bellweather.

IIRC, anyone can come to NH, claim intended residency (or something like that) and register as whatever you want.

The Masshole migration has certainly tainted the political waters from the Live Free Or Die state, so .. polls and such don't mean anything to me.

Imposters for a push poll. Probably Democrat leaning - believing identifying themselves as TEA people - will give Romney an edge.

Diabilical duplicity.

Birds of a feather!

Take a deep breath and quit smashing republicans for the bs that comes out of a left wing phoney polling organization. Below is the description of PPP by the mediot writing this bs posing as news.

Romney garnered 50 percent of the senior vote in the New Hampshire poll conducted by the Democratic-leaning PPP.

Sickening. Teeps up in NH have surrendered to the republican establishment. I hope this doesn’t spread.

That is exactly what all these polls are trying to do!! Trying to demoralize the conservatives into voting for Romney. Sorry but I think Newt will do much better once the voting actually begins.

"I’m guessing that these aren’t original Tea Party type folks"

Sorry to disappoint you but I attended my first Tea Party in Fullerton,CA Feb.2009 and by April 2009 I was organizing and participating in my home county. I have stood solidly with Mitt Romney since the 2008 election. This is another example of how deluded folks here are about Mitt Romney. It reminds me of the Bush Derangement Syndrome. Whenever there is evidence that Mitt Romney is popular with conservatives you guys offer some silly conspiracy theory.

Hi Newbie.

It was NOT the Tea Party that took down Mr. Cain.

It was Politico, Rove, Marriott
and YOU KNOW WHO: ROMNEY-the-Backstabber. SSDD.
