Shocker: Mitt Romney Winning Tea Party Vote in New Hampshire
Sunshine State News ^ | December 19th | Kenric Ward

Mitt Romney broke through the tea party barrier Monday, winning that segment's vote in a New Hampshire poll.

Romney beat Ron Paul among tea partiers, 29 percent to 21 percent, the Public Policy Polling survey reported. It was the first time Romney has carried a plurality of tea party voters, with whom the former Massachusetts governor has had chilly relations.

And in a possible leading indicator heading to Florida, Romney garnered 50 percent of the senior vote in the New Hampshire poll conducted by the Democratic-leaning PPP.

Overall, Romney was the choice of 35 percent of PPP respondents. Paul garnered 19 percent; Newt Gingrich, 13 percent; Jon Huntsman, 5 percent; Michele Bachmann, 3 percent; Rick Santorum, 2 percent; and Rick Perry and Gary Johnson, 1 percent.

Here is some evidence:

"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."

[Cato Institute annual Fiscal Policy Report Card - America's Governors, 2004.]

Milt Romney – the Magic RINO:
"I'm not running as the Republican view
or a continuation of Republican values.
That's not what brings me to the race.

(Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

I will support whomever is the GOP nominee with the single objective of removing the Commie currently occupying the White House.

Well, I don’t know much about women, but I can assure you that their votes will determine who the next President is. Without their support, Obama will get re-elected. That is why family and personal behavior matter most.

Are you forgetting about Bill Clinton? Do you remember the "arousal gap?"

I won't support Romney. He and his family, starting with his father, have been fighting the Reagan Revolution ever since Ronald Reagan emerged on the national scene.

This anti-Romney doctrine may help destroy the country by giving dumb0 and Cloward-Piven another four years to further eviserate our culture. Just look how quickly the country is turning to socialism. 0 will get about three more Supreme Court picks in the next term and that will be the end. Think!

Perhaps it is you who needs to think. I want a conservative, not someone who is committed to destroying conservatism which both have espoused. Romney only names Reagan to fool the gullible who haven't paid attention to his actions. Avoiding Obama by replacing him with Romney is like avoiding a Ford by replacing it with a Mercury. The differences are only cosmetic.

Hey, thanks for the new tagline. Couldn't agree more.

I would say your attitude is like refusing to use the parachute because it’s the wrong color.

Right, NH should drop its bogus “Live Free or Die” slogan. They certainly don’t believe it.

Whatever. Given that I'm hardly alone in my sentiment, it would be a much better use of your time trying to keep Romney from getting the nomination. I'm not a total purist but Romney is a bridge too far (actually a few bridges too far). McCain was bad enough but he is light-years better than Romney.

Why are you conceding the nomination to this liberal, faux-conservative phony? I'm not and will do all I can to keep Romney from getting the nomination. If Romney does, I'll not lift one finger to get him elected.
