WTF? I just heard about this. So we get pushed back from Mar 6 to Apr 3 because some federal Judges say so?

You really should read the articles you post, it states clearly that this was an agreement between the Democrats and Republicans, that was approved by the judges:
The proposal approved by the court in San Antonio was an agreement between the Texas Democratic Party and the Republican Party of Texas. The runoff election is set for June 5.
I'd like to hear who in the Republican Party of Texas agreed to this.

The legal challenges have left candidates with no clear idea of the boundaries of the districts they would represent, making an early March primary impractical. In other words, the feds drew this out in court to drag our primary to a stand still.
Then we had to compromise just to get the primary in Apr.
