How Bachmann Can Defeat Obama (And how she can seize this moment as a Tea Party Conservative)

In a perfect instantiation of green conservatism, the Gingrich campaign has been fuelling a bandwagon entirely on Newt's hot air. It is nearly midnight, however, and therefore almost time for that bandwagon to turn back into a pumpkin (or rather, lemon), which will leave those conservatives who are a little too focused on the manufactured issue of "electability," and who had almost been persuaded to hold their noses and vote for Gingrich, to return to the drawing board in search of someone who can defeat President Obama. They will (and should) ultimately decide that the answer to their quest was standing before them all along, and that it requires no theoretical compromise after all. The answer is to support a genuine and unequivocal conservative, Michele Bachmann.

For while many of the Republican candidates might be able to defeat the disaster that is Obama, Bachmann would be able to do it in a manner most satisfying for conservatives, namely one which draws attention specifically to the nexus between constitutionalism and the moral tradition of American-style individualism.

Think back to the fall of 2008. Once the shock value of choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate had begun to wear off, John McCain's presidential campaign sputtered through one missed opportunity after another.

If you have to say “I’m a serious candidate”, then you’re not.

Yes, the first act of an amnesty board would be to schedule a convention and then decide what their retirement package would be. More big government, more big government.

Gingrich Frontline interview

"I think if you have mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system, much like we did with sulfur, and if you have a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions, that there's a package there that's very, very good. And frankly, it's something I would strongly support." he said.

He then went on to criticize Bush for backing off the pledge.

"If he had instituted a regime that combined three things I just said -- mandatory caps, a trading system inside the caps, as we have with clean air, and a tax incentive to be able to invest in the new technology and to be able to produce the new technology -- I think we would be much better off than we are in the current situation," Gingrich said.

Two months later, Gingrich took part in a debate with Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts about environmental matters. Gingrich was slightly less gung-ho about cap and trade than he had been on PBS, but his message of "urgent need for action" on environmental dangers was clear.

"We should address it and we should address it very actively," he said in the debate, citing a UN report documenting the earth’s rising temperatures. "The … consensus is that humans have contributed to that. I don't think there's any consensus that we are the only contribution, but there is a clear agreement that human activity has helped increase the level of warmness."

How Bachmann Can Defeat Obama (And how she can seize this moment as a Tea Party Conservative)

She can drop out and endorse Newt so that the ONLY GOP candidate who can take out Mitty wins the nomination and then defeats 0bama.

At NRO, there's a poll regarding last night's debate. It's more of a referendum on the entire primary ... 9,600+ votes

Bachmann      7 %
Gingrich      25 %
Huntsman      2 %
Paul      27 % (really?!)
Perry      7 %
Romney      28 %
Santorum      4%

Paul is abnormal. Like it or not, this race is between Newt and Mitt. If conservatives want to defeat 0bama, Newt is the remaining candidate to do so.

“MB=toast w/fake eyelashes”

Yes, Bachmann is toast and has been for a very long time, but those were not “fake eyelashes”.

Those things were Paul’s eyebrows. ;>)
