Terrorists north of the border fired a Katyusha rocket at Israel late Sunday night but it failed to reach Israel and instead injured a Lebanese woman.
The attack was staged from the area of Bint Jbil, where Hizbullah terrorists and the IDF fought a bloody battle in the Second Lebanon War in the summer of 2006.
The attempted attack on Israel was the second in two weeks, and terrorists apparently not directly connected with Hizbullah took responsibility for the rocket firings.
The Abdullah Azzam Brigade terrorist group, allied with Al Qaeda, said it was behind Sunday night’s Katyusha missile attack as well as the firing of approximately four rockets at Israeli territory two weeks ago. Two people were wounded in the strikes, and the IDF returned fire.
Abdullah Azzam also took responsibility for the missile attacks on Israel in 2009, the last attacks until the latest spate.

Israel needs to resort to a more robust form of retaliation.
When a missle is fired into Israel they need to send in three fighters fully laden with bombs.
Bomb a highly populated area then strafe it when ambulances come to gather the dead and wounded.
While you might not get the people that launched the rockets, you most certainly will kill enough people to help reduce population in the region.
When you kill a hundred to a thousand for each rocket launched they may begin to get the message.
And for their encore they will gargle peanut butter...

The Irgun would post signs up in Hebrew, Arabic and English warning civilians away from areas where they would be attacking British soldiers. Even at Deir Yassin, they brought a sound car up to the gate and warned the residents in Arabic that they would be advancing on the village, and telling them that there was transport to the Old City of Jerusalem. In fact, 200 Arabs were safely transported there on a flatbed truck. The 105 civilians found dead among the 145 Iraqi irregulars killed in that battle were those that decided to stay behind.
I’ll follow that tradition. Hizbullah is not fit to shine the shoes of the Irgun or the IDF and IAF, and I’d prefer to keep it that way. I’ll gleefully bury the Hizbullah, but with as few civilian casualties as is practical.
How can you fire “approximately” four rockets?
When someone comes to kill you, rise up and kill him first. What Arab in the surrounding countries isn't taught from a very early age that glory is to be obtained to slaughtering Israelis or occupying Jews?

Now you’re making no sense. If Iran launches a nuclear bomb and it destroys a few hundred thousand in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, we should of course launch a nuclear bomb right back at them in Tehran. But the Iranians would not entrust a nuclear bomb to the likes of Hizbullah. Furthermore, I would not favor only going after the missile crew that launched a specific Katyusha. I believe in taking out the entire Hizbullah. But not the non-combatants in whose midst they are operating, if it is practical to spare them.

When someone comes to kill you, yes. When someone stands around cheering someone who comes to kill you, however, it is neither productive nor effective to also kill the cheering crowd. Make an object example of those who are coming to kill you, and they won’t cheer so hard. Utterly demolish those who are coming to kill you, and they’ll make a big show of hailing you as liberators when you march into town, so as to avert your wrath from them.

I know. And what I say still stands. The people actually firing the rockets (the whole Hizbullah, not just the launch pad crew) are the ones who are dangerous. Those who merely approve of them, want them to win, cheer the carnage they wreak, are opportunists who want to be on the side that’s winning. They are not our friends, but opportunists will turn when you change the opportunities. I will not kill them, but neither will I delude myself that they are true friends, even after they turn.
NFL fans that want to be on the side that's winning root for the Packers or the Patriots. People in the Middle-east who want to be on the winning side would root for the Israelis who have longer winning streaks than either the Packers of the Patriots.
The only legitimate reason otherwise peaceful Arabs might feign support for killing Israelis is that they fear that their brothers might kill them if they don't.

There is that. There’s also the fact that Arabs tend to be moral chameleons. It is the fatalism. When Israel wins, they will suddenly become very “peaceful,” if you can call it that. When Israel starts backpedaling, they smell blood in the water and become sharks. Are they easy people to live with, given these parameters? No. But they are also our cousins; you know, the one you can’t turn your back on if he’s holding something sharp, and his dad doesn’t stray far, just in case he’s needed to restrain him. Be that as it is, we have to deal with them, and not fool ourselves. Genocide is not an option, either morally or physically. Neither is ‘land for piece,’ ‘two-state solution,’ or any of these other failed formulas.
