Given the situation with Romney and Newt, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the other guys get a second look and deemed ‘acceptable’. It might be Perry since Newt’s position on immigration sort of neutralizes his problem. Huckabee seemed to like him.

Perry's internals are very good and have him in 3rd and rising. He will be the alternative to Mitt. Newt's baggage is already dribbling out. The media will harp for the next week on Newt's past statements and positions and it will come back to where it originally was, Perry or Mitt.

Plus you gotta understand, Republicans still do demand a certain level of personal accountability. 3 wives, multiple affairs and shaky ethics are going to turn off the voters to Newt in the long run.
