ATLANTA -- Herman Cain on Monday pre-emptively denied a forthcoming accusation by a woman who is expected to say she had a 13-year affair with the Republican presidential candidate.
In an apparent effort to get ahead of the story, Cain appeared in a cable news interview to say the woman is "someone who I know, who is an acquaintance, who I thought was a friend."
MyFoxAtlanta.com released some details of the story, which is scheduled to air Monday night, shortly after Cain appeared on CNN -- identifying the accuser as an Atlanta businesswoman named Ginger White.
"It was pretty simple," White told the station. "It wasn't complicated. I was aware that he was married. And I was also aware I was involved in a very inappropriate situation, relationship."

I see, it’s not the accuracy of the charges, it isn’t even the severity of the charges, it’s how many people you can get to bear witness, for a fee...
How about you provide some actual evidence before just spouting off?

I guess suitable proof for me would be a saucy voice mail. For some reason Herman Cain doesn’t strike me as they type to send raunchy texts. Maybe a Valentine’s day card saying “I love you with all my heart”??
Maybe he never really thought he would go anywhere. He may have been planning on selling a lot of books, getting a bunch of name recognition, and adding to the debate. Then a funny thing happened.

Maybe she thinks Mrs.Cain will be mad after Herm let her make a fool of herself giving that interview, “he wouldn’t do that”.

The author of the article says they confirmed a phone number,,but I don’t believe for one minute the author didn’t ask to see a text message.....what was in those text messages,,and did the author think to look at how many messages were SENT to Mr Cain? Maybe he was just responding to pleas for help, etc...or trying to be kind or polite. I would have to see some real juicy content from a few messages to be convinced this was anything other than a flirtatious friendship. Sorry,,,he must still be scaring someone and in a very significant way!

That statement by Herman's lawyer wouldn't be very reassuring to me if I were on the Cain train. First it's bunk, whether someone running for President was cheating on their wife is most certainly a proper subject of inquiry by the media. Second, Lin Wood doesn't actually deny anything - he just complains about whether the media should cover it in the first place.
Ms. White says she has been unemployed, and she is a single mom with two kids struggling to make ends meet.
“I don’t think that makes me out to be a bad person,” White said. “It makes me out to be one of the millions of people right now trying to keep a roof over their head.”
We also found a lawsuit filed by a former business partner, Kimberly Vay, who once sought a “stalking temporary protective order” against Ms. White for “repeated e-mails/texts threatening lawsuit and defamation of character.” The case was dismissed; but was followed by a libel lawsuit against Ms. White. A judge entered an order in favor of Kimberly Vay because Ms. White failed to respond to the lawsuit.
