ATLANTA -- Herman Cain on Monday pre-emptively denied a forthcoming accusation by a woman who is expected to say she had a 13-year affair with the Republican presidential candidate.
In an apparent effort to get ahead of the story, Cain appeared in a cable news interview to say the woman is "someone who I know, who is an acquaintance, who I thought was a friend."
MyFoxAtlanta.com released some details of the story, which is scheduled to air Monday night, shortly after Cain appeared on CNN -- identifying the accuser as an Atlanta businesswoman named Ginger White.
"It was pretty simple," White told the station. "It wasn't complicated. I was aware that he was married. And I was also aware I was involved in a very inappropriate situation, relationship."

If this is true, social conservatives would have a considerable problem with Cain. If not true, this is a tragedy about evil people trying to destroy a good man.
It is a fact of life that some men, particularly powerful men, have affairs — athletes, politicians, CEOs, etc. Let’s put it in perspective, if true. Herman Cain did not drop trow on a woman using state troopers to bring her to his room and warn the woman he knew her boss so she had better keep it between themselves. He did not rape a former Miss America. He did not rape a nursing home owner and viciously bite her lip. He did not assault a woman in the Oval Office and then have thugs slash her tires, kill her cat, and show pictures of her children as a warning about upcoming testimony. He did not stain the Great Seal in the Oval Office. He did not get orally serviced by a young intern while discussing life and death matters about military funding on the phone with a congressman. He did not give government jobs for sex. He did not commit perjury, suborn perjury, hide evidence, or intimidate witnesses. He did not have government employees, paid for by you and I, spend their time lying and covering up for him.
The man who actually did all of those things is the darling of the same people who want to destroy Herman Cain.

Perhaps all the potential competent leaders have gone John Galt on us. Who could blame them?
What if it's the other way round? What if the Constitution has gone Galt already?
Washington is clearly disconnected from "the people." What if it's effectively already "Hugo Chavish." Or the dog-and-pony elections they had in USSR.
The powers only let the oafish run against the dictator. The true leaders are necessarily in political hiding or economic exile.
Maybe that's where we are already.
We speak of fighting the last war each time. Maybe we're looking for the last coup, one with guns and martial law etc.

Not when they pick their targets and trumpet the peccadillos of some while literally turning a blind eye to those of favored personages. It’s the end of America if the stories aren’t true but they can run a man (a BLACK man) out of town with made up lies as long as there are enough of them. They could do that to ANYBODY! I was on a conference call at 11:15am this morning with Herman Cain himself, where he explained to us that, once again, the accusations against him are COMPLETELY FALSE. He ALSO explained that he is NOT considering dropping out of the campaign, despite what the media is reporting. The campaign is moving forward as planned. Additionally, he shared that Ginger White WAS a friend of his (and his wife...’s) and she was a struggling unemployed single mom who received several eviction notices due to being unable to pay her rent. So being the good man that he is, Mr. Cain helped her out financially as a FRIEND, as he has done for other friends in the past. This is what you get for being a good person in this country. Isn’t that freakin’ great!?
Ginger White’s track record - she filed for bankruptcy, has had several eviction notices with the most recent one being this past month, she’s had lawsuits against her for stalking and for LIBEL, she accused a past employer of sexual harassment which was settled out of court, her EX stated he wouldn’t put it past her to make false accusations against anyone for money, her lawyer is a left-wing Democrat and an Obama supporter who has donated over 4k to his campaign, etc.
Does none of this matter to anyone!?
I personally have ZERO respect for ANYONE so narrow-minded that they’ll give ANY amount of consideration or credibility to ANY of these UNFOUNDED accusations. How can people be so easily led and influenced by the media?? Whatever happened to INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY? Do we not have minds of our own??
Honestly? All this does is make me support even more.
And is it just me?? Or does it seem absolutely INSANE that anyone would run for POTUS if they knew they had something THIS HUGE to hide!? I’d like to believe Cain is much smarter than that.
Instead of allowing this UNPROVEN crap to influence our support of Mr. Cain, maybe we should fight it with everything in our being with articles like the one below, which of course is not getting nearly the media attention as all the false accusations.

From what I can tell, the basis of your disapproval is that you think Gingrich is lying. I won't bother trying to change your mind on that one, though I will tell you my personal opinion, which is that he is the only candidate that is looking at some of the problems we are facing honestly. Immigration would be the prime example. Once you seal the border, get rid of entitlements and enforce the existing laws, there is still the problem of the millions of immigrants who are already here. Ignoring them won't make them go away. Nor will assuming that they'll just "leave on their own." They won't.
On top of that, you are sorely mislead about his health care and environmental positions. Sounds like you are getting your information from his political opponents, without doing any research for yourself.
Finally, I have no idea where your getting he "gun grabbing" accusation from. Gingrich gets an "A" rating from the NRA, and addressed this year's leadership conference.

You are right about the shadiness of the accuser. There does come a point when people will drop him like a hot potato. The thing that is so odd is the timing of this. Perhaps she/they waited to drop this so it wouldn’t get lost among the others?

When asked what the reassessment was about - Winne replied, “I was on the call, I did not hear the words “REASSESS THE CAMPAIGN”, I heard, ‘we need to assess the situation (the damage) over the next couple of days and continue to MOVE FORWARD.’ He said NOTHING about considering to drop out. He didn’t even INSINUATE it.”

I find it interesting that they mention 61 calls sent or from Mr. Cain’s phone but don’t break down the numbers.
Probably because she called him 59 times and he returned her calls twice (and the 2nd time was to say quit calling me).
Given that he LIED TO HIS WIFE when he cheated on her to gratify whatever he thought was more important than his vow before God, yes, I think he's a serial liar, and a clever one too.

Not a bit, and having written two books discussing the topic of regulatory racketeering, I know a LOT more about government environmental management than you would ever pretend to know. Having spent 20 years restoring our land to virtually 100% native plants, I know a lot more about technical environmental issues than you would ever guess. Well that just about figures you'd be fool enough to trust the NRA. Please explain why Newt pushed through the Brady Campaign’s Lautenberg Gun Ban in 1996, which strips the Second Amendment rights of citizens involved in misdemeanor domestic violence charges or temporary protection orders –- in some cases for actions as minor as spanking a child or grabbing a spouse’s wrist.
Sorry Carry, I my time is unlimited, and I draw that line at responding to agenda pieces. If you can give a personal summary of the offending parts of both the Lautenberg Bill and the 1996 revidion to the the GFSZ Act, which has not been challenged in SCOTUS, I’ll take it seriously and respond. Until then, I agree that gun ownership is a Constitutional right that can be restricted under some circumstances, as been upheld in the SCOTUS. Two of those circumstances, IMO, would be for people who represent a direct threat to their spouses, and for non licensed indviduals within 1000 feet of a school. I do not agree that either incidence constitutes “gun grabbing,” and apparently neither does the NRA. Furthermore, I challenge you to name a Republican candidate who is running against either law.
