Well there is another scenario that no one imagines possible or probable. The former soviet union is experiencing a dramatic religious christian revival. Moscow is 20% moslem and the southern border of Russia is moslem. A week or two ago a russian general was quoted as seriously saying that nuclear exchange with countries on their southern border was nearly a foregone conclusion and that the nuclear detonations would escalate beyond that area.

Since the USA is the most influential pro-islamist force in the world today they are the biggest target the russians see.

Christians have lost control of the Us government, the culture and are witnessing the explosion of islam in the middle east and worldwide.

It wouldn't take much prodding for committed christians in Russia to take action and make an effort to stop the destruction of christianity at the hands of the US government.
