It was Cain who got the tears flowing.
The retired Georgia businessman, who noted that his wife of 43 years, Gloria, was with him, was overcome with emotion recalling the day he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
Luntz quietly interjected: Take your time.
I said I wasnt going to do this! Cain said, light-heartedly berating himself.
He continued: Its as bad as it gets, I will never forget before my wife and I were about to get in the car I said, I can do this
Cain paused again. The audience was silent.
She said, We, Cain finished, and covered his face with his hand.
He removed his glasses and cleared his eyes with a handkerchief.
Later, Luntz asked Cain to share particular regret of his life.
No one is perfect, Cain answered. And I believe that I have had a serious of little failures rather than one great big disaster.
Cain, whose campaign has been dealing with a barrage of controversy when sexual harassment allegations leveled at him in the 1990s where unearthed earlier this fall, didnt talk about those incidents, two of which ended in financial agreements
Instead he talked about another challenge of corporate life: time away from home.
One little failure in my mind was, I didnt believe that I was home enough when my kids were growing up, Cain said.
Cain grew emotional again talking about the the sacrifice I made to be able to climb those corporate ladders.
But my wife was that rock. She was that nucleus, he said.

I couldn't agree more. In fact, I watched it a second time tonight with my husband and enjoyed it even more. It's a shame that more people didn't see it, due to it not being on television - it put the 30-seconds-to-reply to gotcha question 'debates' that we've been subjected to to shame.
There were several moments that I got teary-eyed too. I feel like I know each of those candidates much better & I would feel better with ANY of them as our president than what we have now.
I highly recommend watching the Thanksgiving Family Forum debate if anyone hasn't seen it. (Fast forward the first 30 minutes of the video.)

So, now we know where Anita Hill went...Arizona.
You're a disgrace.
“No, Cains WIFE deserves better than a man who is a Clinton wannabe.”
You are pathetic!
C’mon chubby...say something. You are getting it good here, (deserved), on this thread. A bit jealous of a great marriage like the CainTrain has with his wife are we sis?
He's a good man, a solid man, and I for one believe him...not the smears.
Like you, I stand with Herman Cain.
I think a sign of a good Freeper is building up whom they support, rather than tearing done the opposing side within our Party (excepting Romney perhaps). I am not perfect in this regard but aim to do my best. Could you just maybe accentuate the nice things about your man, Gov. Perry, and dial back the attacks against someone who, along with you guy, could well be the nominee of this Party, Herman Cain, and mellow out on the ad homies? In my book, that would show real respect, manners and maturity.
My guess is that you have posted...and fled. This is rather substandard, cowardly and rude behavior here on Free Republic. You have my promise: Neither you, nor it, shall be soon forgotten. Bottom line: You do your candidate NO GOOD with this kind of an engagement with other Forum members here, Arizona Carolyn.
